Crew polo shirts are 100% cotton and decent quality, circa £35 each.

A mate of mine swears on GAP and they always look good after years of wash and wear.

In this weather, I find golf shirts in man made fabrics, much cooler and I'm not a golfer.

bought a couple of Lacoste = crap.

I realise they have now been bought by the very council Sports Direct but Jack Wills seem to be good. Has a bit of stretch to them but nice and sharp.

The pockets on them are really no more that decorative. You certainly wouldn't (or couldn't) put anything in tham!

Why not buy a job lot at JJB Sports - Dunlop, Fred Perry etc - 3 for £10 at times and then bin them when they go shapeless or relegate them to works use? I find they stay respectable for two or three years if treated properly.

I have kept several older ones on hand for when I’m painting, gardening, spannering and so on and not on parade.
