I don't usually post stuff not car related but figured there might be a few owners of TOD'S shoes on here. I've got a pair I really like, bought them ages ago (maybe 15 years!), wore them out on the piss for a few months, wore through the little rubber nubs on the soles after a few months and retired them.

I've been looking for a pair of casual but smart shoes in a similar sort of style, I haven't found anything that I like that much. I looked on the TOD'S website and they are nearly £400 these days. I've not got that sort of money for a pair of shoes you can't use much, plus I don't like anything on their website as much as my ones anyway.

So the question is, has anyone ever had a pair repaired with either new rubber nubs or maybe a sole put on them? I see TOD'S sell a pair which is basically the same but with a proper sole on them, i'd be happy with that. https://www.tods.com/gb-en/City-Gommino-Driving-Sh... I've googled it but nothing useful has come up.

I have a pair similar to those in the link above as well as a few of the classic gommino with the rubber dots. Very much doubt they’d repair the rubber bits as usually the leather itself is even more worn but worth a try.

In any case, wait for a sale season, you’ll almost certainly be able to pick up a pair for nearer £100 online or £150 in a department store. Should be somewhere nearer that price all year round in the outlet. They also do a sample sale in London about once a year.

I don't wear them for driving, hence why they wore out. I just like the look of them, they are also very comfortable and lightweight.

Herring shoes do decent driving moccasins for a lot less money.

If it's for mostly driving although I know that isn't what the OP wants, try Swims pool shoes. They re designed just like Tods but are rubber with holes in so in the summer you can have the AC blasting at your feet while you heel and toe.

Can Tods repair them?

I'm going to give them a call but i'd assume not as I can't find any mention of it on the internet. I can find plenty of blogs where people complain about them wearing out too quick.

Tod’s have an outlet in Bicester, if that’s any use to you? They’ll certainly have something like that in store, generally around half price.

Have a look on the Clarks website.
