Hairy babies and hair regrowth for men
Discussion
There was a thing in the news about a year ago about Kate Beckinsdale using a cream made out of liquidised baby foreskins to keep her skin nice. I went right off her when I read about that.
It was in the Sun!

And for the lefties it was also in the guardian..

The medication prescribed contained minoxidil as an active drug substance- i.e. the wrong active ingredient- either contamination or a total f*ck up from the manufacturing plant in India. Minoxidil is used to promote hair growth- in products like Regain etc. available over the counter. Yes, it does work, so no surprise the babies grew hair. Minoxidil works for androgenic alopecia, but maybe not for other forms of alopecia.
The way this story has been written about in the media (clickbait/misleading headline, social media overreaction) is pretty poor, and people have been assuming that there was a side effect with the drug. Not the case at all, but very few people bothered to read the article (not having a go at the OP by the way).

Will this horrific terrible disgusting murdering and commercial processing of poor innocent babies never end? Do we really need products such as baby oil and baby powder in our lives?

Surely synthetic substitutes can be manufactured?

And what about baby wipes, they are really sinister.

Minoxidil does work but, like a lot of treatments, is more effective for some people than others. It was initially tested as a blood pressure medication IIRC.
The effect was found incidentally in people using it as a blood pressure medication. However its a very rarely used blood pressure medication because it wasn't very good.
I know a few people who were strung along for years in the private sector going to trichology clinics and having their 'baldness' measured and encouraged. In reality if you want something enough and people give you false encouragement then you are prepared to see anything in a mirror.

If there was a "cure" for baldness/thinning hair, don't you think people like Prince William, Jeff Bezos, Prince Philip etc, where money was no object would be first in the queue?
There is, it's called a hair transplant. The Royals can't do it as they would be forever slated in the press as being vain, so William has to look longingly on google at wigs but know he can't suddenly pop up with a full mop on his dome to a hospital grand opening.
Bezos clearly doesn't care.

If a cure for baldness came out I don't think I'd take it. I've been shaven headed for over 20 years now, must have saved a fortune on barbers, never have to worry about a bad hair day(every day is a bad hair day) or having helmet hair. I see guys with their carefully coiffurred barnets and think that looks like such a clart on.
I do sometimes think it should be socially acceptable to just rock up in a variety of wigs, Fridays in the office, if you don't have visitors, could be giant afro day for example
