I’ve no idea if this is upside down or sideways. It was on the end of a slightly disturbing letter, like a signature.

Looks like an occult symbol rather than a signature.

Was the letter from The Artist Formerly Known As Prince?

edit: that really would be disturbing, I'd forgot he's been dead for three years.

Some form of Masonic symbol, possibly?

In which case it represents “wker, first class”.

Looks vaguely like zodiac symbols. Might give you an avenue to check.

I'm intrigued about how the letter was deemed 'slightly disturbing?'

Yeah. We need to see the letter.

For clues obviously.

What kind of disturbing letter? It look earily similar to something the BTK killer put on the end of his letters ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Rader). Anyone who has watched Mindhunter will know what I'm on about...

Thank you for the replies so far.
It’s not my letter to share it was sent to a friend of mine, it’s about ten pages long and in quite stylised writing. The main gist of the letter, and the disturbing part, was along the lines of nothing to live for anymore, feeling useless etc. They, we are not sure if it’s from a late teen or early twenties girl or boy, said that they had visited my friends house and that he and his wife had fed them, and been very kind, however the address was slightly out. We think those ages as my friends children are of similar age.
I didn't copy the letter I just photo’ed the symbol to see if I could find anything about it. He has passed the letter on to the local police, see if they could trace it somehow.

The first thing I thought of when seeing the image was "Mindhunters" on Netflix, in which Rader is portrayed.

Same here

I suspect more if its a youth then that may be their "Tag" the police may actually be able to identify them from it if they have dealt with them before

Wow that brings back memories.

It’s the ancient symbol for angry pirate.

The verb not the noun.

It's an alchemy symbol. Look up the led zeppelin 4 album cover and go from there...

Looks like a crude inverted anchor at the top (lost hope?) and the number 72 (the degrees of the Jacob's Ladder which symbolises going from this world to the next). Yes I have an over-active imagination and yes I'm bored at work.
