Roman Numeral Tattoo

A friend has had "XIX. VI. MMX" tattooed on their shoulder, so as not to appear ignorant later on when I see her I'd like to at least say "ah yes, this is (what it is)' but what is the significance. Tried briefly online but I'm stumped so I've turned to you guys!

It's a date so presumably means something to them.

Just Googled it and it comes up at the top, so not sure how you attempted to look OP, it appears that:

"XIX" = day - 19

"VI" = month - June

"MMX" = year - 2010

So you are looking at 19th June 2010 or 19.06.2010.

It's 19th June 2010, just ask her what the significance of that date is, if not obvious. Frankly, having roman numerals tattooed could mean anything from the date of the birth of their child to the time they first caught a pokemon.

Bare in mind it could be something personal like the loss of a loved one, I’d go with ‘that’s nice, what’s the meaning’ or not mention it.

Maybe it's an ASCII code for some text encrypted in roman numerals.
