One of the rarest UK coins in circulation is the 2009 Kew Gardens 50p. They retail at anything from £90.00 upwards depending on condition

The design was reissued in 2019 and these are retailing for 25.000 upwards

On a certain web based auction site there are a lot of fake 2009 coins being advertised and quite astonished described as such. 'Space fillers' 'nearly the correct weight' 'smaller that an genuine one'

Although this one is economical with the truth

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kew-Gardens-50p-copy-co...

What i am really gobsmacked is that there are idiots who are bidding on these who do not red the blurb and offering £80.00 plus

I must put an ad on that i am selling Blackpool Tower

Always funny that the person left holding the coin in the end is left with 50p...

US$12.90 for 3 Kew Gardens 50 pence on aliexpress, free postage.

I've bought a number of copy coins from China, just for fun - such as a 1933 and 1954 penny.

Sorting through my late father's books, so I don't throw out the baby with bath water, I came across a book on the Velocette. On Amazon £320. Result!

smile

Put it one side, kept sorting and a few days later went to advertise it. Prices starting at £16.
