I took ten plastic 5 ltr screenwash containers to the dump today. I had carefully washed them all out. The Scaffy in charge told me to chuck them in with the landfill stuff. What's the point! And how is recycling plastic going to help global warming when there's millions of cars and jets pumping out gasses by the second. It's all bks!. I would have joined the demo's today if I didn't think they were all fkwits. Rant over. I also noticed that the 'recycling technicians' were all wearing body cameras. There's something basically wrong here.

Oh God not this again. Why didn't you just put them in your green bin?

We don't have green bins here. Only black, blue and grey. Not that the colour matters a toss I suspect.

Yes you're right, the actual colour doesn't matter, it's what goes in that does. I have no idea what you should be putting in your bins, just my black, green and brown ones.

Did you have any red bull cans you were recycling handy?

Perhaps some defrosted sausages in your food waste caddy?

I guess screenwash cartons can’t enter the food packaging recycling chain due to the chemicals inside, so landfill is the only option.
I read somewhere that the only plastic that is worth recycling are milk cartons.

All commercial pesticide containers are washed out and collected, probably for reuse rather than recycling, but pretty sure that other things beside milk cartons can be recycled!

I have put empty screen wash containers in our recycling bin and they got taken. I assume different rules for different councils.

There is an identify symbol on the container that you can check to see if it is recyclable.

To be fair I think screenwash could come in different packaging but no idea why it can't be recycled.

Didn't some clever young lad come up with a way of effectively dissolving plastic? So why not dump all plastic into that and let his little magic formulation do the rest?

Makes me laugh when it's a 'chargeable' item and they take the money and throw it in the non recyclable landfill skip. I rarely go to the tip now, everything gets hidden in the landfill bin at home. fk em.

Yep, same here. fk 'em.

Also, the planet doesn't have more material every day. Why not just dump the landfill is the places where they dug up the stuff to make it in the first place?
