Who wastes £££ on flaming huge rockets, (the f*kin bang), two weeks BEFORE the night itself.
Some of these things cost £10 - £15 each for Gods Sake. To go BANG!!! I thought it was illegal to sell them beforehand, have to do some Googling! And you can never find the tts responsible setting the damn things off and setting next doors yappy fking dog off, not that the stupid thing needs an excuse! Evil me hopes it does actually st itself in fright having had an afternoon of the damn thing barking at shadows!
I've been to one organized display, as a kid, but quickly get bored after listening to a few Ooohs and Aaahs! What a waste of money!

ts!! I’m as frustrated by health and safety as the next sensible person, but these days why explosives are available for sale in supermarkets to members of the general public is absolutely beyond me. Should be organised events only - All the more entertaining when they go up all at once as they did in Oban a couple of years ago.

A guy at school would hide fireworks in bushes or similar and light a candle, move away and wait for the candle to burn down to light the rocket / banger / Roman candle etc

Fireworks are a big problem in some cities. People are buying fireworks and making home made grenades from them.
A family member recently had one thrown at him. Blew a hole in his hand and thumb almost off. Luckily he got his hand to it, otherwise it would have hit his face. Still had burns to his face though.
He spent a long time in intensive care and has had a lot of surgery.
There really is no reason at all for fireworks to be sold to the general public.
