A day without the family - what to do?

My wife and daughter are away this weekend. I'm working Saturday but have Sunday off.

What does a chap do on a Sunday with no family around?

I'm thinking of getting the train to London and having a mooch around. Visit Winter Wonderland, some museums etc. Then maybe find a good bar and eatery for a meal before heading home on the train. I will be driving to the station so no alcohol.

This is the first completely family free Sunday I've had for years.

Staying at home wking isn't an option as I want to make the most of the day.

What, you mean that isn't making the most of it??

That makes the most of about five minutes. I could do that before I leave.

Pffft. I could do that in a couple of hours. But I would like to do something different on Sunday.

Get up and sit on the loo for 20 mins looking at memes
Shower and spend another 20 mins looking for pants without holes in
Go and read the news online
Go to the gym
Come home and eat ste
Iron some clothes for Monday for work.
Play computer games
Go to the pub
Come home and play more computer games
Go to bed

I'm far too busy to actually go out

I’m all out of ideas.

Given a full day to myself I’d either be doing:
DIY
Clearing the garden
Sales shopping for work clothes
Watching Netflix

It depends where you live. London has a lot going on. Take in a matinee show perhaps?

Depending on your age the Science museum isn't like it was 30 years ago when you could run around pressing buttons and see things working.
It's all audio visual interactive ste now with minimal actual stuff on display.
Where is that big lightning thing they had on the top floor years ago that went bang every 15 minutes as the capacitors charged up to a million volts.

I'm 40.

Train from Peterborough to London.

What is different about this sunday is the ability to concentrate. I wont have my five year old with me.

in all seriousness, i'd be out on my mountain bike or out for a walk with the dog. Maybe wash and hoover the car if the misses hasn't got it. Play a bit of Xbox, practice the guitar a bit more, read a good book the list is simply endless if you put your mind to it.
