What little things do you look forward to?

For me, it's a cup of tea on a Saturday morning. I drink it all the time at work, but on a Saturday morning the Mrs is still asleep, I don't have to worry about work and I just sit downstairs in my dressing gown with my mug and usually a motorbike video on chromecast (More likely than not Doghouse Customs).

I love it. Just my own little meditation.

Washing peas down the sink

I hate them and I find it a therapeutic way to get rid of them

The moment I wake up, my dog knows (and I do mean knows), and he leaves his bed and comes to my side of the bed and sits and waits for me to scratch him under the chin - which he loves. He licks my hand once. Just once. A 'good morning'.

Priceless.

early morning Saturday and my 6 year old
comes running into our room, climbing over me and waking me up. She then pulls our covering down over her and snuggles up. I realised what a lucky man I am. Bliss.

Friday afternoons at work.

All the other guys finish at lunchtime so I come back to an empty office. I can finish what I have to do in peace, read a book, have a little surf or even 40 winks, lovely.

Thursday lunchtime a when I leave the office to come home after leaving to get there on a Monday morning.

Every Saturday morning daddy/daughter time.

And it a lesser extent, Every last Thursday in the month for a curry with the lads.

Similar for me, I like to get up at my usual 6:30am on the weekend and feed the cat, pop the kettle on and watch some TV. She doesn't like sci-fi so I can watch some Mars or The Expanse.

Mine is the drive home after work on a Sunday, relatively clear roads, going home to my wife and daughter and a day off the next day

I can understand this. Most people I know who are unhappy in life are always chasing something ridiculous which ultimately makes them unhappy. If you can find happiness in simple things your are very very lucky.

Coming home and seeing my dog everytime I get back from work or travel - I think that's her favorite thing too : )
