My wife has none. Not a jot.

Doors? Slam them.

Bathroom? Have a shower for three quarters of an hour. Keep windows closed, steam builds up, and flood the floor as well. It's okay, it's a bathroom after all and it should be able to take it.

Drag chairs across the wooden floor.

Cars? They are indestructible. Brake as late as you can, the brakes and tyres are ever lasting.

It's okay to let the kids hang from the curtain poles, after all I designed it for human loadings.

It's okay to leave empty food cans on the drainer, the rust marks will dissappear with ease.

That is all.

Can we swap wives? My wife can happily open a cupboard or a drawer but the action of shutting it is totally alien to her.

Sure. My wife will come around and destroy your kitchen.

I consider myself very mechanically sympathetic, with all things from driving, to how I open and close doors, where I step, the list is endless., but I think this is because I am very mechanically minded and practical. I understand how things work, how to make things wear better and last longer. And the hard work it takes to put things right.
Some people don't have this basic understanding and so don't have this sympathy with things, others just don't care!

Mine is pretty good not destroying stuff but leaves her car in too high a gear to pull away and it shudders, then cruises in fourth, engine blaring away, if I say anything I get a right tongue lashing, but its painful coming off a roundabout in third with a 1 litre turbo and no boost, trying to turn too high a gear, then equally painful listening to it buzz its tits off.

Its easier to keep quiet, the Spotify at high volume drowns it out.

I wish I could educate my other half re the best way to control the house central heating and the car climate control.

In my opinion opening the windows wide to let the heat out when she gets too hot is not necessary if you don't turn every heating control onto maximum when you get cold because you have opened all the windows to let the heat out.

Prods buttons so hard I think they’ll disappear into the dash, slaps indicator stalks with the palm of her hand....

She doesn’t get to drive my car much.

Yes, this one is on the list too. Leave heating on until it's hotter than the sun. Open window. Repeat.

What frustrates me more is she will sit in the lounge with shorts, thin teeshirt and no socks and then moans at me because the central heating is no good.

Missus and kids the same here. Just lob doors as hard as you can at the holes and they'll probably close.

And then every now and again a thing 'just breaks'...

After many years have trained the wife to not treat indicator stalks as something you need to whack in order for them to work. Still working on the fact you don't need to use two hands and brace your foot against the dash when putting on the handbrake.

If a kitchen drawer won't open easily.... don't examine what's stopping it - just pull harder!
Similar to above (if shutting a drawer) just push harder until whatever is stopping it gets mangled.
Scrub off speed with the tyres whilst turning into a corner and change down gear after the corner!
Mind you she had a bad start in life - FIL is so mechanically inept that (I'm told) he's always used an electric shaver.
He was once cutting a chicken for lunch, I said "careful, you'll cu... too late!" Almost a trip to A&E and no chicken with lunch rolleyes

My other half also has a plastic carrier bag hanging permanently on her gear stick for rubbish, so when you change gear this bag of rubbish flops around from first to fifth gear and occasionally reverse.

I have explained to my wife and her mother, on numerous occasions, that domestic appliances, machinery or storage facilities are typically designed not to require the application of full body weight and/or a run-up to switch on/off/open/close/change bag/clean etc. And if it is appearing to require that sort of effort, then to stop and re-consider their approach.

Invariably, I, or even one of the children, will take said appliance or device and carry out the necessary task with the mininum of physical effort.

Funniest is my missus trying to talk to the speech recognition in her car and the rising rage as it doesnt do as she says.
