Common decency isn't commonplace. Why?
Examples:
1. Any publicly used toilet. Two weeks ago some
had managed to spray his number two all over the throne and up on the wall. Generally speaking, toilets used by the public are minging because why, mum/wife isn't there to bk them about making a mess?
2. Hire cars. They have NO SMOKING plastered all over the interior yet thes chuff away in defiance. Why? What's fking wrong with these s. One of my fleet customers (provide like-for-like courtesy cars) rarely gets a (brand new) car back that does not stink like an ashtray.
3. Private Lets. Self explanatory.
4. Company vehicles. Many will not wash or keep clean and tidy.
WTF is wrong with people? Surely a bit of self respect is called for? Are they that void of any decency?

It's all because there's no consequences anymore.
People are so protected these days that they can behave like ****s all day everyday and just avoid their comeuppance.
This is true is so many situations; driving, dining out, at work, dealing with police, mouthy kids.
You can be the biggest **** in the world, disrespect everyone you meet and bully people in your car all day long......and there's zero consequences!

social media isolates people - everybody is a loner. consequently people care about their own personal posessions because their posessiona are their company.
A sad offshoot of this is that those same people judge themselves and others on the amount of 'stuff' they have.
Like the schoolyard bully, their perception is that by damaging or dsrespecting others property the owner of said property has lower satus. because their 'stuff' is broken, and if you're going down the ladder I might get above you and be able to feel better about my place in the world because my 'stuff' is better/newer/more valuable than yours.
materialsim, sabotage, and a burning desire to get more 'likes' than the next guy on MyBook or FaceSpace.
parents raised their kids at the altar of TV, and the constant adverts brainwashed those kids into beliving that posessions equal a fulfilling and worthy life.

yay for the companies that engineer situations to allow them to continue to profit through consumption.

My tenants moved into my property in November 2017, the house had been completely redecorated and had brand new (expensive, won't make that mistake again) carpets fitted.Examples:

Last month the tenants email me to say the walls now need repainting and the carpets require cleaning. Seriously, how have they managed to do this in little over two years?
Just had an email today to say they pulled the kitchen blind off the wall, and they have broken the garage door.
I can only assume they take zero care, walk in with shoes on and basically force things if they are sticking, rather than investigating the cause first.

I work for an organisation that runs a massive fleet of specialist vehicles in London.
They are all, without exception, old beyond their years, even those on a 19/69 plate.
Multiple causes. No one wants to take ownership of their existence. As far as management are concerned, it’s just another square on a spreadsheet or PowerPoint slide, whilst the minions view the vehicles as something that will always have to be provided no matter what.
In terms of daily use, some users wilfully vandalise them as a sort of “fk you” to the company, others are just negligent whilst others have a woefully low threshold as to what constitutes “fair wear and tear”. God knows what their own cars are like.
Ultimately, because the trucks don’t belong to anyone, everyone feels nothing will ever be said.
There’s also a healthy dose of “It’s always been like this” so any newcomers very soon become accustomed/indoctrinated in not giving a st about all the seat adjustment wheels and levers being missing/broken off a vehicle with less than 10,000 miles on the clock.
