It's likely going to progress rapidly now unless people are prepared to make sacrifices to their daily lives.

Aim of the thread is to post sugesstions to what we can do as individuals to help slow the progress. I have great fears that unless it is slowed down, if you need emergency help, then it might not be there.

What I'm doing:

Quitting socialising in busy enviroments - Think a pub packed with dozens, how many could go home and spread it on to family, some might be very vulnerable.

Unneccassary jorneys: emergency services will be stretched, they don't need to be attending accidents on busy roads

Don't care what people think wear a mask: It might not work 100%, but if you have it, it could prevent you passing it on to more with a cough/sneeze.

The more time we can buy, the easier the emergency services will cope and the hope we can prevent as many as possible from catching/spreading the virus and that the hope an emergency vaccine arrives in time

Post your ideas. Talk with family/friends

Yes you are.

I realise it is an issue and I am not looking forward to getting it, I'd I get it, but until I know I have it then I aren't self isolating. Putting your life on hold is a bit silly, but you can take precautions.

"Where are we going Piglet?" asked Pooh.

"We need to get supplies," said Piglet. "For the Coronavirus"

"Ahh," said Pooh, nodding in understanding. "Things like bread, milk, cough mixture, tissues and cat litter even though we don't have a cat?"

Piglet did a little laugh, and a sort of leap and bit of a cough. "No," said Piglet. "No, those aren't the sort of supplies we need at all! What we need are family sized bags of chocolate buttons, massive toblerone, jelly babies and crunchies and a freezer full of stuffed crust pizzas, and all of the Prosecco that we can possibly carry, so that when we get quarantined we won't mind it even slightly. THOSE are supplies."

All of a sudden, Pooh thought that the idea of coronavirus didn't seem quite so bad, and actually, getting quarantined with Piglet and their supplies really didn't sound such a terrible thing after all. "Oh Piglet," said Pooh. "I really do think you are a very wise animal."

You contain a virus but taking steps to not get it, as if you do, then you may spread to more than one person, and so it grows.

Unfortunately the government isn't being aggressive enough, and are allowing large events still.

The studies of recovered patients in China indicates that even if you have recovered, the virus has already caused damage to your lungs. So best to not get it at all

Hopefully the roads will be quiet for a nice drive as it doesn’t seem to be raining yet today.

I think the best way of helping the nation cope is by endlessly reposting media hype about it on Pistonheads. As you were.

CRUFTS....I usually go to Crufts (Terrier day), it is on Sunday this year, as it rotates the days each year. There are many overseas visitors so would it be a good decision to give it a miss or not? yuckyuck

Government to take control of all media information and what can be released. Stop the hysteria and panic buying. Think of others less fortunate and their needs. Shop for the elderly you have in your family or those close by. Don't let your kids worry by keeping them away from the 'news'.
I remember the ads on bus shelters in the 70's of a fox with rabies. I was about 8 or 9. Scared the living crap out of me at the time.

Exactly. Help the nation by behaving normally and buying stuff and keeping businesses going.

Force panic buyers to use and eat what they buy at the checkout if it is above and beyond any concealable reason why so much is needed. To use up the bog roll, feed them the spoiled food from the skips.

It's going to be the new currency in the post-corona world.

Wet nose = healthy dog... so dry nosed canines should be avoided surely. yes
