International Womens Day - borrocks

My wife got messages this morning wishing her happy IWD, she works for a bank and most of the messages were from colleagues. Apparently shrugging and asking wtf that's about isn't the correct response, so a quick Google later and I am enlightened: https://www.internationalwomensday.com/

From the home page clearly it's all about empowering young, slim and attractive women - some of whom are so empowered they can sit in the middle of a road!

So it seems IWD is aimed at a particular demographic, their theme saying 'Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day'. So that excludes the child brides and sex slaves then not to mention those subjugated by religion.

Rename it international PROFFESIONAL womens day and fair enough but if you exclude a major proportion of the population don't pretend to be standing up for womankind.

I thought it was about encouraging soviet women to work harder in the factories and fields.

I work for a large multinational company and it feels like it's every second day there's one of these 'events'

I'd argue they actually have the opposite effect now, folk just delete the emails and forget about it.

Children cannot consent and so have no choice or freedom.

By 'sex slave' do you mean those caught up in human trafficking? the term has several possible interpretations.

Nobody is subjugated by religion because apostasy exists.


When is international mans day? If we're all equal then why do women get a day but men dont? sexist in the extreme, lets prosecute all IWD participants for excluding men contrary to the equality laws that we are obliged to abide by.
