Should I offer housing to NHS staff

Just want to run this by anyone who cares to comment.
I've got 4 of holiday lets, all quite high end, fully furnished and lying empty.
The local hospital has had an influx of staff to deal with the current situation and are trying to find places to stay.
Should I offer it to the NHS free of charge. They get a free house, I get a warm feeling without having to wet myself.
What are the downsides? What happens if they wreck them as people often don't value free stuff.

Lovely idea. I'd suggest you treat it like a normal rental. Agreed condition report and inventory to start. Maybe a refundable deposit but not actual rent.I've got 4 of holiday lets, all quite high end, fully furnished and lying empty.

Dont advertise it on a public forum.
Absolutely no need to tell others about these things.
Lots of people doing lovely gestures quietly at the moment.

I only need to share with the person in the NHS who can facilitate it.
The people staying don't need to know who I am.

Before putting it to my NHS contact, I wanted to put it here for comment.
I've now put it to her in confidence to let me know what she thinks or advise who I can put it to.
I realise it's a nice thing to do and the cost to me should be minimal.
I feel good about it, my property is safe from being targeted by thieves or squatters and people who need as much support as they can get should benefit from it.

My wife is 140 miles away and had an email from the HR dept that a national chain was offering accommodation to those working away from home so HR may be the best dept to contact.Before putting it to my NHS contact, I wanted to put it here for comment.

My NHS contact has said she would speak to the senior Matron at the nearest hospital.
My insurer has said they can do a change of use without issue.
It seems the local hospital are in "the calm before the storm" right now so don't have a problem at the moment but may well do.
From what I'm hearing elsewhere, it sounds like others are thinking along the same lines.
