Like many people, I've been out of work for a week now, some of which a bit longer. After family time, my only escapism is to the local supermarket (Morrison's for me) but that's for an essential shop not just willy nilly because I feel like it. My other is playing the Xbox for an hour or 2 late at night but by this point I am shattered.

I'm slightly starting to feel the pressure being stuck in 4 walls all day. I do miss going out with my family for days out I.e clothes shopping, taking our daughter to the butterfly farm or the park, wacky warehouse with a pub meal/drink.

When all that's taken away from you, you're confined to 4 walls. No breathing space, no luxury of swanning around unless you want to pay a fine for unnecessary travel. In doing so, your labelled selfish and causing a health risk to those people around you. Totally understandable in this circumstance.

How do you guys feel at the moment? And when normality eventually kicks back in what's the first thing you'd like to do? Or do you prefer how the world's become?

Are you exercising? More opportunities then to get out either on foot or bike and feel like you've done something. I'm using the strava app to monitor my progress.

I am not too bothered by the restrictions, there are a lot of sick people in a far worse place than me and I wouldn’t want to contribute to another one going down. I went shopping on Saturday, had a brief walk and that was my last outside time. My local support effort has pretty much dried up as relatives seem to have woken up to their responsibilities, or have more time due to being off work maybe.

But yes, I do miss the freedoms I used to enjoy, shopping 3 times a week for fresh goods to make tasty dinners, going for a walk to the bars and restaurants close by and enjoying the ambience of the location we are fortunate enough to to live in and see the people enjoying life, seeing my mum and grandson etc. I reckon the thing I would most like to do is take the folks in the family who have had birthday celebrations put on hold out somewhere for a bit of a bash. However, from ages 1 to 90 it is going to be difficult to find the right venue.

But I have a reasonable home, enough sustenance, a lovely missus and other entertainment (oo-er). I remind myself that I could be a lot worse off like fighting for my life under supervision of overworked front liners as opposed to sitting indoors working remotely, surfing pistonheads occasionally and generally doing sweet FA reasonably safely.

I am resigned to be here for the long haul, but it is really a first world problem for me.

We were due to be on a ferry to Spain on Sunday for a 2 week runaround (some rough tracks included, so in the Freelander) looking to buy a property. That is unlikely to be the first thing we do after CV, just like your list, it is down a bit but is really important to us. We will do it when the time is right, maybe not until next year but it will get done as soon as this thing eases up properly.

Start arranging my wedding properly. We viewed a few venues about 2 days before everywhere shut. We have decided on the venue and left an email. We just need them to open and confirm.

Probably looking for work.
I’m working from home full time, but I doubt my employer will survive ‘till things get back to normal.

It closed last year. I used to pop in there for lottery tickets.

You miss the wacky warehouse? If you miss soft play then you really are ill. Maybe not in the body but in the head.

I suggest learning the difference between your and you’re while you’re at home. That will help you in all of your future endeavours. That is something that you get from this situation. Time to improve yourself.

If you can keep a distance of 2 metres whilst shagging a prostitute, I'm very impressed.

I will be putting the house back up for sale.

ETA: The above two comments are not in any way linked.
