Electric shaver suggestions.

My son is after an electric shaver,can you recommend one?
I wet shave and have never used electric so I don’t really know which are good,they all look the same to me.

Depends. If rotary, then get a Philishave or Braun if a foil.

I can't get away with rotary shavers as I find they irritate me so I have a Braun. It comes with a cleaning station and is really easy to look after and use.

I use Braun and have done since I was given one as a subtle hint. The 3000 series is perfectly fine, but the 5000 is better at dealing with longer hairs.

Yes, I forgot to say. Mine is a 7 series and well suited to lazy bds such as myself. It will happily cope with a week's growth.

I went back to wet shaving as electric ones are just crap. Tried Braun and Remington. Used to hate wet shaving, but now it’s ok.

Braun 7 Series. Don’t pay full price though, there’s often deals to be had.

I tried a new Philips rotary and it chewed my neck to shreds. Changed it for a Braun which uses linear blades and it's bliss.

DONT buy any of the expensive branded shavers util you have tried this £30 jobbie, it's absolutely brilliant.
I bought one in December 2019 and It's still running off its first charge over 3 months later (though I don't use it every day)
Battery lasts forever
USB rechargeable
Waterproof for using as a wet shaver (I've never tried this)
Gives the best & closest electric shave I've ever had.

same here, my new electric shaver, a Braun was ok when brand new, although a decent shave took a little time. I went back to my Gillette Mach 3 wet shaver and there's no comparison, the wet shave is in a different league. Pity the blades are a bit pricey (the most shoplifted item in the UK apparently)

I haven't managed to find an electric shaver that works properly on me. The hair on my chin/throat just does not like electric shavers.

Currently have a Philips RQ1250. It isn't bad (It's also 10 years old).

Had an expensive Braun and some others and they weren't great. YMMV.

Agree with buy a cheaper one of foil or rotary and see what works best for you.

Agree. I have had one of these for over a year now and it is better than any of the other rotary shavers I have owned in the last 40 years !

I have always used these but they started going down hill and didn’t hold their edge (on a couple of different batches) so I have swapped to Bic Flex3 (Do not think of the cheap Bic)

A far closer shave and they last three times as long (I get 3 shaves and used to get one with the G2)

I use a Phillips, it’s a cheap one but better the the 200+ quid Braun I had.

I always get a wet and dry one then use shaving soap ( you can use foam as well but no gel ).

I agree with the don’t spend to much money mantra.

Phillips series 3000 wet and dry on amazon prime for 50 quid.

If the above mentioned sweat leaf is wet and dry I would be tempted with that.

But I would not buy an electric razor that was waterproof.

There has been a shortage of shavers/clippers recently that has meant Iam starting to resemble a cave man..anyway was able to finally get a Braun combi clippers/shaver...less than positive comments above on Braun but hoping it does the job!
