This is really getting out of hand now, up and down the country, the fact many local tips are closed is no excuse.

This appeared overnight blocking a road near Daisy Nook, a local beauty spot near Ashton under Lyne.

Yeah, no excuses for this type of thing.
Unfortunately, there are a percentage of people that are just scum. And nothing will ever change this.
Nearly impossible to police as well. frown

Don't worry, the police and council will be back devoting resources to fining electricians and plumbers for not having waste transfer licences soon enough. Many of whom then resent being scammed by such a petty tax swindle and will take extra care in whom they let take their waste. Not.

Completely agree - especially when you have the "I ain't no grass" Brigade.

No reduced bin collections so far here (Chesterfield), bin men came half an hour ago for recycling and garden waste. Recycling centres are closed but that's been no great hardship even though we have stuff to take.

I can't see why the recycling centres are closed, easy enough to do social distancing, we are having to bin cardboard instead of recycling it (only bottles & glass allowed in blue bin) what a waste!

Our bin men are working as normal. With the tip being closed I left a massive box of card by the full bin (with a tip taped to the bin lid). Despite the official line being that they only take the bins, it went.

More than happy with the bin men right now. thumbup

A while back I saw a video with some landowners smashing the absolute granny out of a flytippers estate car. A virtual pint for anyone who can find it smile

It’s not this one, but it’s just as satisfying .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5to07Eroi8o

In the first week of lockdown I noticed a big increase in the kind of stuff that would typically be found in sheds and gardens, obviously done by people suddenly finding themselves with time on their hands to ''have a clear out''

Exactly this. Some people are scum. Laws aren't meant for them as far as they are concerned.

I knew fly tipping was going to be a consequence of closing the council tips but I haven't seen big one yet.
Seen some small bits of timber, chipboard abandoned on common land locally and also a few tree root bases dumped nearby.

Normal bin collections around my way but people have been fly tipping...outside of the closed recycle center hehe

There was a post on FB a while ago where a farmer went through the fly tipped rubbish and found an address, scooped up all the rubbish drove to the address and tipped it all in the garden! laugh

If I can find it I will post a link

I've been doing a bike ride round my local lanes and there's been loads flytipping, there's a quiet back road that passes a driving range and there's been 5 loads dumped there already. The council take a pile away, the next morning there's another.

Around the corner to that someone's dumped a load of asbestos on a footpath popular with dog walkers.

We do have several local camps of our lovable tinkers in the area.

This one doing it up here seems more conscientious as he's not blocking the road at least.

We had a fly tip near us, was posted online

Weird thing was there was loads of decent stuff in it. When I walked past the next day most of the stuff had been picked out

That is bad. Seen a few round here as well which is unfortunate as it doesn't happen all that often...but the rubbish tips closed at the first sniff of the virus so its been weeks without and now stuff is starting to appear on the more quite roads when I am out for my hours blast on the bike. Wardrobes, sofas... that kind of thing.

Of course, there are no police around to catch them, they're too busy gestapo'ing old grannies walking to the shops for milk.
