Costa Express open in your petrol station?

Are the Costa Express machines operating in your petrol station? A friend of mine works in a petrol station and management has just told them to turn on the Costa machine, obviously this is going to encourage people to make non essential trips to pick up a coffee and encourage footfall through the shop. This is grinding my friends gear's somewhat so I am asking have you seen similar Costa express machines on during the current lock down?
Both the Tesco & Sainsbury's near me have had the shop / food / drink part of the station closed for the last 2 weeks at least so no chance of anyone getting their coffee even if they wanted it. Basically you either pay for fuel at the pump or via the window (like you normally would do late at night after they close the shop).
Similarly, the nearby Tesco, Sainsbury's & Waitrose, that i've visited to do the shopping since lockdown, have all had the instore machines turned off too since the current measures were introduced. I think the Waitrose had actually turned theirs off at least 2 weeks beforehand and told people to stop reusing cups, etc, as it risked the spread of infection.

There are still people that need to drive to work and for work so that we can continue to have a functioning society in these strange times.
I don't begrudge them a coffee in the middle of the journey. At the end of the day, a trip to the petrol station for a coffee is a non-essential trip.

Yes, I use them regularly as I’m a travelling key worker, I don’t see why it would increase footfall, not sure the police would see going for a coffee as a essential journey
In the last couple of weeks:
Tesco petrol stations - all forcourt shops are shut
Budgens - open
A shell in Bristol - open
A shell in Stroud - open
A BP with a local shop kind of thing attached in Stroud open but no spoons or coca dust

The petrol station in question has a small shop which is still open, also to the annoyance of my friend. They say some people are still coming in for items such as creme eggs, not exactly essential. I am classed as a key worker but since all this kicked off I use pay at pump with gloves, and get a good hit of caffeine before I leave work or home if I feel the need.

Has he spoken to his employer? They have every right to refuse service if they want to, nice big sign out front should help.StevieBee said:

I really, really do not think that the presence of a functioning coffee machine is going to tempt many - if any - people from their homes.Edited by xu5 on Tuesday 14th April 23:24

Takeaways are allowed to stay open, people are allowed to get takeaway food. As long as the coffee is absolutely, genuinely to be drunk off the premises, I think it's within the law. Plus, as mentioned above, it's actually quite useful for people who drive all day.
My local BP doesn't have machines but the counter is still open and it's like Police headquarters in there when I walk over and get milk and bread a couple of times a week.
Mine does a discount for the emergency services so it's always got a few in there propping up the counter, seems during this period they like to gather in larger numbers for a catch up.
