Stuff you cant get any more or wont pay for...

Last night was a glorious evening... I finally managed to get fresh chillies after 3 weeks of trying every supermarket in the land.

But, I have a list of other stuff I just cant find or wont pay stupid prices for.

Tomato puree should be 50p a tube its sold out in all the shops but you can buy it online for £3 a tube, no thanks.

Nitrile gloves for our workshop. £20 a box of 100. Mental. Forget large, no one has any or if they do its mega money.

Cucumber. Not seen any in ages.

Ghee. A bit of an odd one but something I use and its now impossible to get in the supermarkets and £8 for a tin online that should be £3-4 max. The most popular brand (East End) is pretty much sold out everywhere.

Anyway, tonight is going to be chilli night at my house... extra spicy

Weird as I've not struggled at all to get cucumber or fresh chilli's, tomato puree was a problem for a while but not now and I've seen ghee in the shops.

You can make ghee. Bit of muslin is all required. Other filters perhaps.

Erm, to clarify my comment (rather than butter into ghee), in the (now rather outdated) children's book, Little Black Sambo, the young chap had some new clothes which were stolen by some tigers who then got into an argument and ran around a tree so fast that they all turned into ghee. See, I was on topic but a tad obscure.

Do you not mean ghia ? A sort of posh version Granada ?

Ghee - go to your local Polish sklep and you can get something called "Masło klarowane" comes in a little bucket like tub. Usually yellow and brown. Same stuff. (Clarified butter)

Cant get any flour. Plain or self raising. Bizzarly I can get all the chapatiflour I could want but no normal stuff.
