*RANT* :mad: UPS = Useless

I ordered some parts for my car on the 9th. Right from the start it said delivery will be the 13th. I checked the tracker this morning which said they’ve been dispatched at 5.31. Great I thought, I’ll make sure I stay in because if I don’t they’ll end up back at their bloody sorting depot. All day it’s been saying my parcel is in transit and will be delivered by the end of the day. It’s now 19.30 and no show. I’ve just looked again and although it’s still saying out for delivery it appears the parcel has been scanned back in to the depot at 18.23 
I wish everybody would use parcelforce because this isn’t the first time UPS has let me down. Parcelforce on the other hand always seem to turn up on the correct day. The other benefit of parcelforce is I don’t have to worry about being in because if I’m not it just goes to the local post office and I can go and pick it up the next day.

Yeah, fair enough. I’m not going to blame the driver, I’m an HGV driver myself. My point being I guess is the managers have obviously put too much on him to achieve. I sit around waiting all day because as I said, if I miss it I’ll end up having to re schedule and doing it all over again! That’s why I wish all my parcels came via parcelforce because I can go collect it if I miss the delivery. Also, UPS tracking thing is carp! It’s still telling me it’s in transit when it quite clearly isn’t. Anyway, chill pill (glass of red) taken so ill calm down now

Oh, IMO UPS are one of the better parcel courier companies. I've had an issue with Parcelforce who delivered to 46 XXXX road instead of 46 My Road. Was only £350 worth of stuff.
Everyone makes mistakes, the only one I try and consistently stay away from are HERMES, the rest, DHL, UPS, Parcelforce, DX etc all are generally good I've sent many parcels especially splitting my Scirocco including to the USA with most major couriers and had no issues with any.
99% of parcels get delivered or collected as mentioned nothing can be 100% :-)
I work for UPS
I'll give you an idea of what is happening
People are at home, bored. They are literally ordering everything you can think of. While commercial deliveries have dropped off due to closures, residential deliveries have more than tripled. Our depot on Monday had nearly 10k packages come in, our busiest Christmas peak day ever was less than 9k packages. A typical day this time of year is little over 6-7k. A lot more companies have switched to selling online as restaurants, pubs etc are closed so we're getting things like food and drink that we never normally do. Amazon have also swamped us with oversize shipments that their own delivery guys don't deliver (furniture, Swimming pools etc etc)
Some of the drivers at our depot typically do 70-80 drops a day in rural areas, they're getting 150+ drops a day at the moment, they're managing around 2/3 of that amount so it's rolling over day after day. Drivers doing town routes are doing over 200 drops, We don't do this much volume at Christmas and at Christmas most drivers have helpers which we can't have due to social distancing. I did the most drops i've ever done in 20 years yesterday. Extra drivers are working every Saturday to clear as much as of the volume as possible but we are restricted by driving hours.
We also have people day after day ringing up wanted their stuff, saying it's urgent medical goods or similar only for the driver to go out of their way find it's actually blinds, or shoes or something random from Amazon.
I'm not trying to make excuses but that is how it is in black and white.

There’s a lot of people working awfully hard to keep people ‘happy’ during all this beyond the rightly lauded keyworkers. Thanks for busting your ass to keep things moving. I'll give you an idea of what is happening

OP, I think you’re being a tad ridiculous, do you think complaining about slowed deliveries is really appropriate at this time? What else were you planning to do today apart from stay in?

Yes it will I’m sure but how many days do I have to sit around waiting? What happens when I can’t sit round waiting? It ends up back at their base. I don’t think I’m being selfish being annoyed I haven’t received the parcel on the day stated by them. 1/10 rant

I can understand the OP's frustration, i can guarantee for every person urgently needing something there are 10 others who have bought something non essential.
