They have been offering a take away food menu and have become the centre for a Covid help group and the local food bank, so I think the support will be there.
They have also been spending money on a segregated garden area whilst they have been closed so clearly have hope for the future.
We have a population of less than 400 in the village as well.

Where I used to live until a couple of years ago (N Yorks) the local pub closed about 18 month ago, but there again it wasn't that great an atmosphere in the anyway and I used to travel a mile south to a great well run friendly pub in the next village. Hope they survive. Where I live now it's 5 mile to a couple of average pubs, and with drink drive limits up here in Scotland I end up with a drink at home. Depressing I know, I have always enjoyed a good pub atmosphere. Between beer prices, drink drive laws, and now CV19 I think a lot more will go to the wall unless they diversify dramatically.
My local has been doing takeaway food as well, which seems to be quite popular. Not sure about the regular pubs that I use in the local town, I haven't been past them for a while. I believe some are doing the same, but not all of them. For the first weekend of the closure I was still walking into town, then just having a wander around and going home. I stopped because I found it very depressing (though I'm not sure that isn't a bit too heavy a word to use) - not just the lack of anywhere to go, but how quiet the town was on a Saturday night.

It's a great pub that serves a variety of independent beers and decentish food, has a fantastic upstair space for music and comedy nights and has recenty converted the top floor into a cool litte hotel with reasonably priced chic rooms. Also a cracking beer garden space out back.
The Red Lion caters for so many (families to 2am Friday/Saturday dancers) that even if the brewery goes under, they'll be another to take it over and carry on.
