Returning to the UK for a funeral

Sadly, I learned today that my ex-wife died this morning. I was telephoned by one daughter in floods of tears, and I can't contact the other because she will be beside herself with grief. I wish to be there at the funeral, and it seems to me, living at Le Mans, that the only way to come back is via Calais. I shall be going to Chelmsford. I have looked at the internet, but would be grateful if someone can advise me whether I shall be subject to lockdown if I go back. If so, there is no point, but I dearly want to be there for my children. All advice would be most gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

14 day quarantine starts on June 8th for visitors to the uk. You may need a special travel permit from the French side.
Funeral date is the question.

If it helps I travelled via the tunnel to Bordeaux and back this week on a removal job. You need a travel certificate that you download from here: https://uk.ambafrance.org/COVID-19-declaration-for...

The tunnel was operating pretty much as normal bar the closed terminal buildings, traffic was virtually non-existent. You go straight to the lines.

All across France we saw no signs of any extra police patrols or checks apart from when we were stopped at a toll booth by some Gendarmes, who upon a very basic check on what we were doing, waved us on.

Thank you both for your prompt answers. My children don't want me to go it seems because they are frightened I'll catch the virus, but I haven't seen my children and grandchildren this year and I miss them. We'll see how it pans out.
