Help understanding a WW2 telegram
Discussion
Hi Folks
I know there's a lot of resourceful and clever folk on here, so I'm hoping I can get some help on this!
My late Grandad was born in Jamaica, moved to the UK, and served (I believe) in the UK army in WW2. A member of my family has recently uncovered this telegram that was sent by my Grandad to his Mum.
Unfortunately, I didn't really have a relationship with any of my Grandparents (my fault) which is something I deeply regret. I tried to do some family tree work a few years ago and didn't get very far. I think I'll give that another shot as there must be something of interest having roots in Jamaica and I think a good starting point might be trying to understand this!

Can anyone shed any light on:
- Dates? I'm guessing 19th May 194x
- What the 'LK84' and other codes might mean
- Where it might have been sent from?
- Where I might get some maps/photographs of the Tower Street area so I can maybe see the house. Unless that address was the Post Office....
Port Royal seems to have an interesting history!
Thanks in advance...
