Where do you spend most of your time on PistonHeads?

When I joined here it was because of Le Mans and I did a lot of posting and reading there. In time I found more interest across other parts of the forum, Minis, Readers Cars is a constant favourite. Recently I’ve found interesting threads in the Food section to read and post on and as a United fan the football section too.

The reason I ask is more recently I’ve found myself reading and posting more in the cesspit known as News & Politics and quite frankly it’s depressing in there and I’m disappointed in myself. It’s also interesting/depressing just how many posters seem to only venture in there.

So where do you post and spend time reading threads?

(And how do you avoid NPE?)

I always just look at whats new. Then delve in to any of the sections.

Classic Cars and TV & Radio are about the only forums where you can chat with decent people and not be trolled. PH is no different from most of the 'net. I learned the hard way when I first joined the site.

It's easy to avoid NP&E. Just remember that they are all swivel-eyed lunatics, reactionary bigots or argumentative arses. If you aspire to be none of those, keep away. You will learn little, nobody cares about your opinion, and you won't win any argument you're daft enough to enter.

I start at the top and leapfrog down through the same sections I've been reading for years. The rest, i.e. the majority, I ignore.

My bookmark takes me straight into The Pie & Piston top level. From there I can review erudite posts from all other sub-sections in one place.

I sneak into the sneakers to marvel at the people who collect sports footwear. It is fascinating.
Reader's Cars daily looking for either updates or something new.
Sean Connery Joke Thread because every now and again I get to spit my coffee out.
NPE to remind myself I'm sane.
The Lounge, specifically Tell us something trivial about your life, because it is full of crack pots with zero agendas other than communicating with like minded crack pots and it can often make my day even as an observer!

I have turned off a lot of forums (eg watches or football) that I know will never interest me.

I'll specifically keep an eye on the Sean Connery Joke thread, and the Geek Jokes thread for a laugh,
and the Frivolous purchases also for a laugh.
Have been watching the Tools You Wish You'd Bought Sooner thread, but this has the side effect of a negative impact on the bank balance as you end up buying tools you'd never have known existed.

I like N, P&E. I don’t post in there much, more gaze, wide eyed, at the arguments. It’s like trying not to look at car crashes, you know you shouldn’t, because you might see something unpleasant, but you have to look anyway...

Badly Modified Car thread, and C124PPY plate thread is hood for a laugh too

As I am thicker than a whale omelette and have no relevant opinion on anything at all, it means I can happily avoid the more cerebral aspects of PistonHeads and therefore drift rather aimlessly around the Lounge, waiting for the odd Photoshop thread where I can demonstrate something I can actually do.
