Say £100 million, what would you do with it all?

For me Id probably give away at least 50% of it for starters..
Id obviously ensure the family circle was well provided for but Id like to just be able to walk down the street and hand a random someone a cheque for say 20 grand, itd be priceless to see someones face when they opened it.
Put envelopes under peoples windscreen wipers on the carpark say, with a nice sum inside, that really appeals to me.

Im not one for buying a yacht, or a racehorse, maybe a cat and a private island to stroke it on...I expect you to die Mr Bond... hehe
Would like a new car (thatd be a first) and just have a bit of fun for once.

I can see much of it would be given to GOSH, cancer research, dementia etc, itd probably not go that far in the grand scheme of things but itd be nice to be able to make a difference to people ive never met.

Invest in the underprivileged. Giving to charity is great, but helping pull people up is ultimately more rewarding.

Sit on it for a few weeks

Then ... Make out to family and friends that I’d had a massive landing on some stocks/shares

We like our current house, I’d buy the house next door and flatten it and build a triple garage and a nice 20m pool

6x6 GWagon / Audi RSQ7 / R8 cab for the Mrs / F40 / Arial Nomad

I’d like to lot of random acts of kindness ... £20k through letterboxes ... new cars ... paying off loans, credit cards, mortgages ... etc...

Set up an animal charity / rehoming centre

I'd do the usual stuff,, houses, holidays, loads of cars.

But also, I like the idea of giving some smaller amounts of money to compete strangers. A single mum struggling to make ends meet, an elderly person barely getting by on a state pension. That kind of thing.

I’d wander the land, handing out apostrophes to the needy.

Houses, cars, bikes, etc.

Then I’d like to go to the bank and withdraw fat wad and wander round town and give a couple of grand to a busker, a couple of grand to a homeless guy, a couple of grand to a young couple, a couple of grand to whichever charity shops caught my eye.

Pay the mortgage off and then fund a cycling holiday for a few months around europe (tick off Mont Ventoux, Alpe D’Huez etc)
Load of travelling, maybe buy a little forge and learn the art of knife making, take some flying lessons.
Probably buy a Singer 911 but after that no idea, make sure close friends and family are OK.

No boats, horses, watches, clothes, london/monaco/NY apartments, posh art, daft investments, collecting cars etc.

i would buy a small island somewhere like fiji where i would plant and take care of the most amazing corals regionally. I would nurture this as my main job which i would deal with in-between the hypercars, trackdays, racing and building incredible homes even if they were a loss maker.
I would also help others as much as i could without blowing the lot in a week.

Not this AGAIN.
How many threads do you need to discuss the same topic over and over again?

To be honest I’d probably find it very stressful, a millstone around my neck. I’d probably lose my sense of purpose to some extent. I’d lament that the money is bound to negatively affect my relationships.

I might employ a cleaner for the bathroom. It's starting to get a bit grubby in there and I just can't be bothered.

TBH I agree.

It's like Bingo though

"nice house with a large garage"
"fleet of various exotica"
"Go away on holiday"
"Give to charity"

hehe

My ideas

"Build a nice, but not massive house" Hopefully the smallest house on one of the nicest streets. So as to not stand out.
"buy 2/3 cars. 1 of which would be completely non descript like a A4 TDI or something. So as not to attract too many dheads / gold diggers. Be great to have a McLaren F1, but realistically I bet it's a pain in the arse having a crowd every time you go to the shops or petrol station!

"Go and do various experiences."

So flight in a Mig in Russia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-djkcoHKc4
Go and drive an F1 car at Barcelona. https://www.evasion.club/en/f1-driving-experience-...
Finally do my PPL (various)

Probably take a few friends on those experiences.

There would be limited charity donations. (2 or 3 that I like) I can think of less than 5 people worldwide that would get any form of significant financial gift! (That list would have been longer 15+ years ago! rolleyes Amazing how people change....)

Might treat myself to a nice watch and a new suit. Get the top level of Uber every now and then.

BUT

All that is probably only about £3-4M quid tops! Chuck the rest into a 2-3% interest account, get a comprehensive will drawn up. I dunno after that!: biggrin

I'm a single guy, no kids, I would hope I'd stay relatively grounded, I'm not massively materialistic. So don't expect any £400 T shirts! Or diamond encrusted jewellery. (not my thing at all) And the last thing you want to do is attract undesirables by being all flash.
