Ebay / Paypal refund question.

Sorry, this may be something that I should be able to work out. But I cannot.

A buyer paid by Paypal and then asked to cancel. I refunded his Paypal payment.

I've tried to cancel on Ebay to recover the sale fees but it is saying "by clicking this you will refund via the original payment method".

I don't obviously want to refund twice!

Point and laugh by all means but can someone explain a way round this please?

So if you cancel, it gives you your fees back and automatically refunds the buyer. But leaves you down your original refunded amount.

I imagine the buyer isn't going to want to return your refund (not sure how they could either) on the promise that you'll cancel and refund through eBay...

Not sure I see a way round it.

Other than... Wait until a "sell for £1" offer comes up and relist it then!

Why did you refund directly from paypay rather than through ebay?

Did the "buyer" ask you to do this?

I thought that was how it had to be done. When I buy something with PayPal it’s a separate transaction and assumed it would be when refunding / cancelling a sale.

I'd get on to ebay then, click help and contact at the top of your ebay page then type contact ebay.
