I've stayed as my parents for the last 2 nights and came home with some laundry. On putting it in the machine I over-looked the fact that in the same bag were some freshly-picked home grown runner beans. Shame; I was looking forward to them.

Anyone else washed anything they shouldn't have? I bet someone can even direct me to a PH "I've just washed a Rolex" thread.

60 degree wash?

You will have laundry which is now a nice shade of green plus you've cooked the beans!

Win win!

My aunt washed three jumpers belonging to my brother that cost 120 quid each. He specifically told her not to wash them but she still. At the wrong temp. They looked great for Teddy Ruxpin. He went mad...

Just this week I washed my headphones. (Redmi Airdots.)

I dried them out, charged them (in a metal tin, just in case they set on fire) and they're working fine.

£300 Garmin cycle computer. 4hrs economy wash followed by 2hr drying. I wondered what the banging noise was.

Contrary to the reputation for Garmin it is still working fine a couple years on!

Years ago I had a Samsung Galaxy Note thing.

I’d had a bit of a rare lie in and went into the garden where my wife was hanging out the washing.

Where’s my jeans I had on last night? I was gonna wear them today?

I washed them comes the reply, she pegs them on the line in front of me and says oh, what’s this? As she pulls the phone out of the pocket.

To summarise, she took my jeans that weren’t in the wash basket, washed them with my phone cos she didn’t check the pockets.

And it was my fault.

Edit: she did this twice to that same phone.

Jumper, £120? Such is the world these days I guess!

All my jumpers were used as goalposts and invariably I would come home with a hole in it!

I doubt mine lasted long enough for a wash but the old memory is not what it was! biggrin

In almost 30 years of driving I've never washed my car keys... up until this year when I've done it 3 times.

Remarkably they still work after a bit of drying out each time.

Washed 2 mobile phones (both died), 1 set of car keys, still working. About a 1000000 small screws or fixings of some sort. And probably about a ton of swarf. Steel is the worst swarf as you end up with rusty stains around your pockets.

About 15 years ago I machine-washed my (ex) girlfriends "Coca Cola" tank top (it sounds rubbish but it was honestly really nice) which should only have been hand-washed. She was only 4 foot 11 but it came out fit for a five year old. I wake up sometimes in cold-sweat over it. Actually, if I'd washed it in my cold sweat we'd have been OK.

Most USB flash drives that I've put through a full cycle have come out OK.

Have one usb drive (always the same one!) that has been through the wash at least half a dozen times.

Still works fine, never lost any data either!

Pair of leggings got in with the bed sheet going for a 90 wash. The lycra shrunk somewhat. But on the plus side wifes trolleys now fitted our youngest!

Also, not what I have washed, but what I washed with.

Accidentally put washing up liquid instead of conditioner in a washing machine at a friends house. We became aware the air was "quite damp". The kitchen was absolutely full of bubbles wall to floor cupboard to cupboard.

And I've also used bleach instead of conditioner 20 years later.

Now I stick to capsules and no conditioner.

how quaint, the lower orders do their own washing ?

I shall have a word with the west-wing under scullery-maid

She's been washing your beans for years, do you want to change?

As for the laundry, who wears used clothing?

We send our Butler to collect the freshly manufactured wardrobe of clothing every week.
