Did you have a nutcase at your school?

Yup, and fulfilled his own prophecy and has been in and out of prison since we left school.
That said, I suggest watching the Ted talk below - not sure if I am allowed to post this so in case it is removed, look up ‘I Was Almost A School Shooter | Aaron Stark’ as it makes you realise how society contributes to this.

In our year we had the lad who tried to impress people by doing odd stuff, tell him to jump off a roof and he would, tell him to set fire to his shoes he would etc etc
Then we had a lad who was a big unit, and stank, completely let down by his parents on every level. Most kids treated him with respect he deserved and gave him the benefit of the doubt, a small few tainted him continually for hours on end, poor lad
On the last day of school he went round and systematically beat the bullies up, if only he’d done it all this years back he might have had a happier life.

Simon, can't remember his surname so I am unable to Google him to see if he ended up doing something he shouldn't have.
I was actually friends with him for a while in middle school and a bit of secondary, he had a very unhealthy obsession with weapons; guns, knives and ninja stars, weird thing was his parents bought him these things.
His guns were proper guns which fired blanks, not air guns but actual pistol type guns, he had a revolver too, he had air guns and rifles aswell, we are talking mid/late 80's and we would have been 11,12,13 years of age.
As mentioned he loved knives too, he owned a few and he had loads of ninja stars, oh yes knuckle dusters aswell, I never saw him get violent but he had pointed his guns at me a few times, looking back he was a proper nutter and what goes through a parents mind to think it is acceptable to let their 12 year old son have these kind of things and there was absolutely no control over them either, he could do what he wanted and when he wanted, with them.
Would not be surprised at all to find out he'd been in prison for some kind of violent act.

I went to a grammar school in the sixties. Eight hundred boys, which was big for the time. There was a lad called Luker, inspirationly ugly, not very clean, and quite an eccentric. Of course, he was nicknamed Filthy Luker.
Now Luker was asthmatic, and it is remarkable to think of it now, but the only kid in the school with any kind of chronic illness of any sort. The teachers were afraid that when we had a fire drill the excitement would trigger an asthma attack, so he was pre warned. We all knew it was coming too, because Luker would come in armed with his dad's old ARP tin hat from the Second World War.
While we were lining up on the school field in classes, Luker would dash up and down the lines in his tin hat, uttering encouraging cries of 'don't panic' and 'stay calm'.

From what you have posted, I really would not be surprised . I was actually friends with him for a while in middle school and a bit of secondary, he had a very unhealthy obsession with weapons; guns, knives and ninja stars, weird thing was his parents bought him these things.

Our resident nutter at Primary school was called Ian. I’d been at school with Ian since 1st year infants - even back then, just being within proximity to Ian when the s
t went down usually resulted in a collateral slippering off the head mistress when we were sent to see her.
Ian’s mum was some form of pacifist who believed in letting Ian express himself without discipline. Ian’s dad was not on the scene (from what i can remember). He was a bit of a loner, and a hard knock - you didn’t want to get on the wrong side of him, He didn’t have any friends as such.... he used to hang around with us.... but given his reputation for causing trouble my mum and dad told me to steer clear. In hindsight, he was probably damaged in some way..... lack of a father figure etc. (who knows), but he always had an air of unpredictably which meant that you never felt at ease around him.... he randomly picked up a chair and lobbed it across the classroom once. I also remember that the teachers really disliked him..... no doubt word of mouth as he moved up through the school. He was always being shouted at and sent to stand outside. one teacher in particular hated him and made his life a misery. he never wore uniform either.
We went to different secondary schools when we turned 11. I heard he’d been caught shoplifting. I moved away a few months after that.

Sounds a lot like severe ADHD. Have you heard anymore about him since?

There were a few lunatics at my secondary school. Just doing a google to see what they’re up to, and find that an old teacher has been done for multiple counts of indecent assault on a few pupils. He was an absolute see you next Tuesday, to be honest I was pretty scared of him, but never had him down as a paedo.
This was ours... came from an Irish / Traveler background

Not a nut case but this fella is 5 years older than me and went to same school, he always hung around at the bus stops after school waiting for us to get off the bus. I remember my dad and others telling him to feck off. Looking back he was a proper creep. Remember a local old school shop keeper throwing an onion at his head and getting him
