EBay advice needed regarding a return item

Righto, so in a moment of weakness I purchased a novelty Halloween projector thing off the bay of E for just under £30.00. In summary it was as suspected a piece of rubbish that didn’t do what it was supposed to and was not fit for purpose.
I completed the return process and EBay provided me with a free postage label for Royal Mail Tracked 48. I used the label and sent it off on Friday last week. Today it was returned addressee unknown. The eBay payment went to China although the process suggested it was all Uk based,what a surprise.
The address on the return label is a sausage manufacturer in Ripon.
What would you lot do?

Yeah just do this and lose £30 when a quick call to eBay will probably get you your money back.... Great advice mate ...
To be fair I probably would open a case and see how it progressed.

But, you are speaking to a bloke who paid £50 extra to upgrade a train ticket to save me moving seat 1 cabin away from the Stella bar.

It says a lot when your tipple of choice is wife beater. Anyway I have emailed seller to tell them it’s a refund I want. Got to wait till 21/09 to give them a chance to reply apparently. I’ve also lodged it with PayPal and told them I want the money back too.....so let’s see.

The usual line on here, "they always side with the buyer" is not true.
I sold a used turbo on there and included detailed photos including the manufacturers pressed plate, knowing that Saab used different turbos on the 900 and 9000 (more than one type on both models) and that the buyer should check it's the right one. Buyer didn't.
Later got an email saying it's completely the wrong size, I offered to take it back but refused to pay postage as I had advertised it as collection only because it was seized to the exhaust manifold. I had to take it to work, call in a favour to get it ground (grinded?) off the manifold. Then go to the Parcel Force depot etc. I responded to the dispute saying all the info was provided with photos.
A few days later I got an email from Ebay saying that negative feedback had been removed along with 1-star ratings on everything. They obviously read the ad and all the messages and sided with me as the seller.

I had the same with a hot tub cleaner, was a piece of crap. Returned and when you do the return through ebay they track the return, it says it's been returned but i heard nothing back from the seller so after a time ebay refunded me. A few weeks later the package was returned as consignee gone away. It's common with Chinese sellers, they ship en-mass to a UK address who forward it on to the buyer, the return address is usually a PO box or just an empty office.
Not Ebay but a similar thing this morning on Rip Off Britain on TV
Women buying clothes from a retailer who gives their address as a UK base but all goods, usually rubbish not as photo/description, from China. When they see the crap they've got they ask for a refund. Retailer offers a 50% voucher (as if you'd buy anything else) or says return goods to China. Huge postal costs.
