What do you do on your birthday?

What do you guys do? Any rituals or smaller things?
I’m 41 today and so far have
- taken the day off as Covid ruined all my plans anyway for holidays this year so had loads of spare days. I’ve never taken it off before
- cleaned and waxed the car with a fast hydrowax that took me less than an hour from start to end
- 5 rasher bacon sandwich for lunch cooked by wifey
- walk in local park with my little lad
What do other people do on a mid-week birthday?

What do other people do on a mid-week birthday?
I wouldn't really do anything for a birthday once past the age of 21.
Any time I've seen any of my mates trying to organise some sort of birthday night out, its always the ones who are under the thumb at home and need an excuse for the mrs to let them off the leash for an evening.
A birthday is just a normal day for me as far as I'm concerned.

This year all my plans (50th) were royally f*cked up with lockdowns etc so we planned a trip to see a band touring from the States I wanted to see and a long weekend in Padstow booked in for breakfast lunch and dinner at my favourite restaurants.
Band cancelled their tour so that got nailed and now talk of a circuit break could stuff our weekend away and thats if my consultant says I am well enough to travel!!
Previously I just bought myself a new car. That was much easier.

Depends on where I am and who’s around.
This year didn’t do much other than grilled out with some friends.
A couple of years back I was scratching around for something to do. Wife was working. I grabbed my drone and took a nice drive out to Le Manoir and enjoyed a solo lunch with my iPad. Very enjoyable few hours including relaxing in the garden after. Then flew my drone for about 15 minutes before I got bored and drove some more.
This year didn’t do much other than grilled out with some friends.

Don't forget solar system motion around the Milky Way, the MW moving amongst local cluster etc. etc.The earth will never be in the same place twice. Also pay attention budding time travellers.

It can be in the same place relative to the Sun, well close. Because it's not exactly 365 rotations of the earth to 1 rotation of the Sun.
Then the Sun is moving at 220Km/s in an elliptical orbit around the Galaxy, but the Galaxy itself is moving at 300Km/s towards Andromeda, or Andromeda is moving towards us. Who knows if the Universe is indeed stationary, or not, and you can debated whether 'Universe' just means "everything" or maybe if Humans exist long enough, we'll understand what, if anything lays beyond what we consider our Universe today.
In short, we're much. much smaller than even "a tiny speck of rock" on the 'big scale' of things, Our solar system is just a tiny speck of dust, of more than 500 solar systems in a small (relative to the others) galaxy that's just one of a near infinite number of Galaxies all racing around in our Universe.
But... we're the only known planet with life, known to us anyway and the chances of just being born is one in 400 trillion. We're both incredibly meaningless in the Universe and equally incredibly special at the same time - hell, just being born at a time, and in a place where resources as so abundant we have time and energy to even consider having a birthday treat is staggeringly lucky.
So if there's a social construct to excuse yourself a bit of a treat / extra attention every 365.25 years, you might as well take advantage, because the Universe doesn't care either way.

Birthdays are rather important, and beneficial, because the more you have, the longer you live.
I usually receive a nice bottle of single malt and celebrate with my family, enjoying a nice meal either in a decent restaurant or a takeaway banquet at home.
Of course I'd rather have a soapy titw
k, but there are grandchildren to consider, and I'm not one for outraging public decency.
