The worst sounds you ever heard

I lost 4 mates in a car accident when I was 18.
We had their funerals all in the same day, one after the other.
The noise/yelp/screech/dunno what it was that one of their monthers made when she saw the coffin of her son being lowered has haunted me to this day - over 20 years later
Very sad.We had their funerals all in the same day, one after the other.

Luckily mine is utterly trivial. The sound of a handful of small coins being put down onto a desk. Smaller coins being worst.
The smash when, as a youth, I was practicing chipping golf balls on our back garden.
In a million to one chance I managed to ricochet it off the head of a cherub garden ornament, watched the ball sail back over my head, then heard a large crash as it went through the dining room window.

The sound of a con-rod punching out of the block in my modified MK3 Spitfire
The sharp crack as one of my nice new carbon-fibre paddles broke when I was kayaking a particularly challenging river, with no way out of the gorge section except to carry on
The bang, followed by silence, from the engine of a Cessna 150, thankfully on very short final to an airfield - managed to glide it onto the very start of the tarmac.
The sounds, not one in particular, at Kings Cross station on July 7th 2005 (I just managed to miss the Piccadilly line train that was bombed).
