I've been called, and used, 'Chief' on many occasions.

I must be really naive because I don't understand what this thread is about.
People can call me boss,chief,guvnor, anything they like,why would it bother me

Now, this may be a slight exaggeration, but I feel I’ve only ever been called ‘boss’ by Eastern European car wash types and ‘governor’ by scaffolders / builders etc.

In Northern Ireland boss is very often used where you don't know somebody's name.
