Took the car in for a service no courtesy cars when I booked so arranged for this aft and I would wait,
when I got there it was going to be 2 to 3 hours,
decided to go into town, (Doncaster)
stood at the bus stop for half an hour, no bus, bloke from house nearby had gone out in his car and come back, asked me if I was waiting for a bus? bus route no longer in use = no bus,
"hop in lad its only a couple of miles to town" took me to town and would not take any payment,
sat in a Turkish cafe next to 2 Somalians and 3 Iranians drinking coffee, opposite a polish butchers, multicultural??
the town was almost dead no people about,

Yes, definitely only in Yorkshire. Nowhere else in this whole country of sixty-something million people would that ever happen. Fact.
How do you know if someone's from Yorkshire?
Don't worry, they'll tell you.

How do you know if someone's from Somalia? Or Iran?Do they have their national identity tattooed on their foreheads?

t what county you are from, and yet people from Yorkshire for some reason think we all desperately need to know. Years ago I worked for a company that serviced catering equipment in pubs and restaurants. One day I'm driving around looking for a pub, (no satnav in them days) A to Z in my lap and just going round in circles on a massive estate. Anyway I pulled over at the side of the road to ask an old boy which way the pub was, next thing I know he jumps in the passenger seat and says he was on his way there himself. About five roundabouts and ten turns later where in the pub car park, he jumps out says thanks and trotts off into the pub. This was Doncaster also.
driving home from a mates several years back, I stopped to let a few drunks cross the road in the middle of Donny,
the passenger door opened a "big lass" got in saying "tek me to Armthorpe"
Im not a taxi love, ok she says "take me home and you can come in"
I pushed her out of the door, she would have been more at home in the pages of VIZ
