Hi, supplier recently sent a small package by UPS but I did not receive any notification the package was on its way, nor that it had been delivered - which it hadn't been !

I have queried with UPS (tracking info) and the 'signature' (squiggle) bears no relation to the correct surname.

Secondly the address was not complete / back to front / truncated, and the second part of the post code completely incorrect / not in correct format

I have never used UPS so not sure whether there are check boxes, or similar, to request updates for customer when sending.

Cant find info on UPS FAQs

Any thoughts ?

Instead of the usual parcel Force letter asking me for a customs payment I was sent a text saying that I could pay the delivery driver. I then got another text saying 'they' had a problem and inviting me to go online. My phone doesn't do internet so I left them to deal with their problem. Eventually I managed to find the UK tracking number to be told the parts had been shipped back to the US. I was fuming to say the least. In the end they apologised and admitted they should have sent a letter. I've cancelled the parts order.

Was it UPS or USPS? USPS are utterly hopeless and take forever. Once in the UK Parcel Force aren't much better. Have you found a UK tracking number? Then you could deal with the UK carrier.

UPS are usually very good.

I'm not surprised regarding the signature because most if not all courier companies are not taking signatures currently because of Covid.

Other than that in my experience UPS do provide the receiver with delivery updates.

If the address is not input correctly that is likely the senders failure although as someone who sends parcels daily myself I have found the courier systems which import delivery details from other systems are far from reliable and need to be checked.

My advice would be contact the original seller and ask them to resolve as its a matter between them and the courier company.

If the supplier wants to add your contact details when shipping they can do, UPS have all the options to do so, that said it requires the shipper so actually input the data or have a system in place where it automatically transfer your details tot he UPS system. If the address is incorrect then it's possible it's ended up at the wrong place, more so if the postcode was incorrect as that's how UPS sorts their packages.

Was it Luxotica per chance? I've not seen a single one of their packages with the correct address information and they always, always have missing postcodes or part postcodes.

Also nothing is being signed for, if it needs a signature then the driver signs it Covid 19 or similar

This is a typical bad address, from a big company not just someone from eBay
