OK, I want to understand this better...
I am guessing Facebook has an algorithm to tailor adds to the user. I am trying to work where they get stuff from... "Do they know too much?"
Facebook likes me to see lots of ads for Star Wars stuff, I liked star wars back in the day, even to the point that when the digitally re-mastered version (2000 ish?), me and all my friends took our girlfriends to see them in the cinema (strangely enough, not one of those girls married one of us blokes; they went with that day
we did tell them in advance), but have never searched for anything star wars via facebook, or anywhere else for years!
Also, I keep getting adds for dating agencies (I am not actively looking to make myself less single at the moment (particularly during a pandemic), as internet dating sites seem a bit "predatory", and close to pointless for men looking for women, as there are so many 40 (ish) blokes out there who are now single, that the Women can take their pick (this should read as I am big, ugly, and there is too much competition)), this would not worry me as I never click on the ads anyway. So are they just basing it on the fact I am male and getting old? or is there more to this?
How do they work it out, I normally delete all cookies etc, and they can't be using that or I would just get ads for what ever playmobile toys my little nieces want and I never get playmobile ads? I have never been on or looked at a dating website. So what ads do you see on facebook?
