Soho or Shoreditch in London appeals. But I love San Francisco. The city is compact, great food, bars, shopping plus you have amazing scenery in Napa valley, Marin and the PCH

I've lived in Soho for a long time and I can guarantee you that you would not enjoy the 356 much!
And it would probably get trashed unless you have underground parking.

Have been to NYC and Tokyo several times and I think the same applies with not being able to enjoy the car, NYC in particular.
Shame as I'd live in any of those places in a heartbeat!

Coastal California (good shout!), probably around Monterey

I'm very envious. I live in West London suburbs. I could sell my house and easily buy a flat in Soho but the wife won't allow it. My youngest son now works in Soho so I often go up and we meet for lunch. I could spend hours sitting outside Balaans coffee shop in Old Compton Street just watching the world go past. A few years back a young woman walked past, in a t shirt and leather biker jacket, but stark naked from the waist down, apart from her shoes. And no one batted an eyelid!
