Work shirts big neck v slim fit (+ deodorant help if poss.!)

Possibly an unfeasibly niche thread but here goes with trying to solve two issues at once...

1. I wear 17.5” neck shirts (TM Lewin at current) but this doesn’t seem to translate to a 42” chest and 36” waist. I have their fitted ones but they’re still a bit baggy. They don’t seem to do super fitted in 17.5” so is there anyone people might recommend who do what I’m after, ideally at about the £20 each mark I buy the current ones for?

2. I googled this point to see if my Mitchum roll-on was bad for my shirts as some were getting marks under the arms (and like Windsor’s finest, I don’t sweat much) and the first thing that appeared was an archived 2008 thread from PH by someone asking which deodorant doesn’t eat their shirts. So as it sounds really; can anyone recommend a deodorant that doesn’t eat your shirt

I found Mitchum stick the best for me, it's a bit chalky applying it on and will cause a mark if putting on clothes right after, but I use it the night before.

Not sure what Driclor is but it sounds similar to Odaban which has truly been a life saver for me in the shirt department.

As for the shirts, could you have darts put in the back to make the body slimmer assuming the shoulder width is fine?

What I may do is start using Slaters again, they do a free alteration service but they’re down in Cheltenham. Was hoping for a mail order solution.

I use these.

Takes about six weeks but decent enough. Postage is expensive at a tenner an item but occasionally they'll do free P&P.

Doesn't Driclor stop you sweating at all? Not sure I'd want to use that long term

My daily is Pitrok which is a natural crystal deodorant, doesn't leave manky yellow pits on shirts but doesn't stop you sweating either, it just stops you smelling like donkey. I've used it since July and it should last a year apparently, game changer for me - Just apply it when clean after a shower and its all good.

It doesn't smell of anything at all so you'll need to apply aftershave or something if you want to smell of something, with this you just don't smell of anything other than your shower gel.

Always wear a T Shirt vest under a shirt. Helps in the winter months, keeps you cooler & sweat patch free in the summer.

Plus you could either
1. Bulk up through weight training
2. Put on some timbre / get cuddlier/make muffin top

I’ll echo what a few others have said and say Driclor too. Stings like a bh the first one or two times but it really does the job effectively.

All valid ideas team but I’ve no interest in wearing anything under my shirt and through running a bit more it appears I’ve spent the lockdown period slimming down in all areas apart from my neck it seems (which is what has prompted the query) and have equal disinterest in putting it back on.

Basically I’ll ask again, does anyone know of anywhere you can get 17.5” shirts with an uncharacteristically slim fit?

Get them custom made. Lots of people do this depending on where you are.

Yes, as mentioned above I think that’s what it’ll come to. I certainly can’t find anything in the usual places I look.

I have had it done a couple of times, the difference is unbelievable, well worth it.
