I am fed up with Amazon!
Every time I look to buy something they try to foist their "Prime" service on me! I don't want it! Don't they think I would have taken it by now, if I wanted it?
The number of times I have gone to buy something and I realise they have slipped a 'Prime' subscription in with the purchase. Have I got to stick with Ebay for the rest of my days? Because that is what it is beginning to look like.

They are rather underhand in their automatic adding on of prime imho. My elderly father used Amazon once (on my suggestion) to order a gift for my mother and ended up unknowingly with a prime membership. Not impressed.
That said, I’d be lost without their service. Here in Spain it’s without rivals as the remainder of Spanish businesses still belong in the 1980’s in terms of service delivery, coupled with the fact the postal system is notoriously terrible and a complete gamble whether you’ll actually receive the item. Amazon locker a mile away and that risk is gone. Also interesting that my annual amazon prime fee here is about 40% less than the U.K. prime cost.

Where it says you can sign up to Prime, you have to click on it to say you don't want to try the free months trial. If you don't do that, then you are automatically signed up for the free month's trial.
What has stopped me from using them now is having to type in the 6 or 7 weird font characters as for some reason I keep getting them wrong - or my Windows 10 doesn't recognise them.
There is the option to hear numbers to type in, but these have a lot of noise added to make if difficult to hear them correctly.

I got caught by this, even though I was aware of it, all a bit sneaky and underhand. Had to go through the cancelling process. I buy very little through Amazon, I usually find better prices elsewhere. Try and buy local if I can, try and go to a shop if I can.

I have a good understanding of UX design and usability. Amazon is deliberately designed to make it as difficult as possible to avoid inadvertently signing up to Prime. Good digital product design is about making an interface as intuitive as possible for a user to get their desired outcome - the idea is that it's easier to do what's right than what's wrong, so you get the result you want and that the product designer intended. Amazon employs this approach upside down. I'm pretty sure that an equally upside down approach is increasingly being employed by people planning the UK's road layouts to maximise the likelihood of drivers inadvertently committing some kind of offence that will incur a fine.

I wish that were the case.I'm not proud of supporting Amazon but they offer an excellent, reliable, convenient service and Prime more than pays for itself.
They are the one stop shop of the internet and therefore introduce similar problems to large supermarkets popping up near small towns. The independent businesses just can't compete.
Over the years they have been asked to stop forcing Prime on non-subscribers a few times but nothing seems to stop them.
Amazon Prime has been great for me in these wasted months of 2020... All Or Nothing series has been good to watch with Spurs and Man City, a great documentary. The delivery service is prompt as well.
