Increase in moped nuisance

In Southampton we seem to be having a wave of moped / motorbike crime.

How about you? Or is it just localised?

Chavs on squads and motor cross bikes at times, usually around the city centre. As always, depends on the location.

As a teen there was a gang of us riding AP50, FS1E and the like. We never made a nuisance of ourselves though.

Have it quite regularly in north Birmingham. On one of the "ride outs" which was apparently to promote an anti knife crime group, one of the scrotes pulled a knife on some woman who dared beep him. Bet the irony was completely lost on him.

I don't live in or near a city so gangs of anything aren't a problem.

It does take time to assemble a crew.

I have noticed that these things go in cycles every couple of years.
It seems that they grow out of mopeds/scooters and into cars .
Or the local police get fed up of them and have a series of clamp downs on them and they disappear.
It was a topic on daytime TV this week and the incidents have reduced by 50% since the police introduced tactical contact to end the pursuits .

We get similar, but we're in a semi rural area. It's mainly illegal quads and Motocross bikes (no plates etc), but a couple have progressed to car sized buggies which they drive like loons.

The trouble is that they all sound like chainsaws, if they were more like a 1930s Velocette I wouldn't mind at all.
