My alarm clock is silent, my watch just vibrates. I must cancel this within 0.05 seconds of it activating. I then have to sit up at a rate not exceeding 1 degree / sec, slowly let one leg out of the bed and lift myself up in one smooth motion on one leg whilst keeping one hand and the other leg on the bed frame to reduce NVH to as close to zero as possible. Then hold my breath whilst I tip-toe over to the bathroom trying not to cough, sneeze or blink loudly. Then enter the bathroom, in the pitch black and commence the task of trying to take a "quiet shower". In the dark.

If all goes well then this avoids my second alarm which is my wife who will sit bolt upright and inform me that, darling, as much as I love you it is somewhat irritating that you are dreadfully noisy and if you don't cease I will be forced to have a stern word with you later this evening when you think I have forgotten all about this. Or words to that effect.

I find it a relaxing start to the day.

I oversimplified it to be honest. The beeps get progressively more annoying and intense over time.
