office wind ups!
Discussion
I was a victim myself earlier!
We were all given advent calendars, start of December
mine was slit open one of the chocs take out,
some chocolate was then melted and mixed with 12 million scoville chilli sauce called regret, poured back in the mould and put in the fridge, so it went back to a solid.
The packaging was then glued back up, so it looked un tampered with and put back on the window ledge by my desk,
it was pretty funny actually.
Has anyone else fell victim to an office prank?

My mate grabbed somebody in the office's phone. Changed his number in her contacts to EE customer service. He than rang and said she'd used up all minutes and rang up a huge bill. Before he could confess she was on the phone to her husband playing merry hell with him for "doing it again".
An unlucky lucky shot!

Other way round but back in the day when (computer) mice had balls the "classic jape"
was to take the ball out... oh the fun we had.
Until one time someone (me) thought they'd do it to a junior programmer. Young lad, very nice, very quiet but also very, very big. Didn't take it too well, was under enormous pressure with work and home at the time. Completely snapped and lost it
had to be restrained as it turned physical rather quickly, he literally was going to kill me

Secret Santa many years ago. I drew the office scrooge, bought him some fake scratch cards. After he'd scratched them all off, he'd won over a £1mill. He resigned on the spot, rang his missus with the good news. Someone them pointed out he might want to read the claim instructions on the back. The penny dropped. Then the grovelling started to withdraw his resignation......
Anyone else seen this one?
You take a printscreen of someone's desktop (showing wallpaper, icons and taskbar). You then delete all the icons and hide the taskbar, then set the printscreen image as the wallpaper.
Everything looks as it should (except the clock!) but nothing works.
This is probably fairly well known now but I remember years ago, this could have IT support doing full reformats!

I got spoofed by a friend. When I was living in Switzerland I had a GT3. Was telling friend in London how I had been having some fun driving it across the border in Germany. Sat at my desk in the office in Zurich I get a call from a German claiming to be from the police, asking whether I owned a GT3 and had I been in Germany on date X as they had evidence of me speeding. Took me a little while to realise it must be BS. Was my friend’s German colleague.
Step 1 . Get a colleague who is very anal about their car
Step 2 visit a rough part of town and collect smashed car glass from crime hotspots
Step 3 wait for a dry day, borrow colleague car keys, open their windows and sprinkle the smashed glass on the ground and floor mats
Step 4 get site security to ring em telling them of issue with car
Watch the drama unfold
Obviously only works with the right work mates and a secure site car park.

I remember doing that about 15 years ago and it was old then You take a printscreen of someone's desktop (showing wallpaper, icons and taskbar). You then delete all the icons and hide the taskbar, then set the printscreen image as the wallpaper.

Sorry, a bit long winded.
Workmate had been looking at buying a new Golf Motion, must have spent hours over a number of weeks at work calling every VW franchise in the U.K to get the best dal.
Role on to the works Xmas night out and he still had not bought one.
Arranged for one of my mates to call him and say that he was calling from VW HQ and they had noticed his name appear regularly over the last 6 weeks on their database after calling all the different garages.
He then went on to tell him that VW were carrying out a promotion where they had chosen one potential customer from Scotland, England, Ireland & Wales to receive a Golf for a 3 year lease FOC and all they had to do was complete a weekly blog on how they were getting on with the car for VW web site.
The morning my mate was going to call him passed by and thought he had forgotten.
This was the day of the works Xmas night out, left the office just after lunch for the restaurant and around about 30 of us split in two tables.
No sign of any phone call but happened to mention to a couple of workmates at the table I was at about the “call that never happened” (he was at the second table) when we saw him stand up and move outside taking a call.
10/15 min or so later he came bounding in to the restaurant giving everyone high fives and telling them how life’s good and that he has been given a FOC golf for 3 years by VW. (Bear in mind alcohol has now taken effect)
I was “ I need to tell him this is a wind up before it goes to far” but one of his best mates who was at my table was of the opinion of letting it run as it was getting too funny.
So we let it run, but by the time we got onto the next pub he had called his wife to tell her the “good news”
Every pub we ventured into that night someone was told about this non existent golf he was getting.
By the end of the night he still thought that he had won this Golf for a 3 year FOC lease, numerous attempts to try and tell him it was a wind up failed.
It was difficult call to make in the morning to say sorry, but he took it in good fun and we are still talking after all these years and have a laugh back at it.
Only worked so well after him having consumed the beer, I’m sure it wouldn’t have been the same if he had got the call when sober.
37 years ago as an office junior, my office colleague used to ring me up pretending to be the managing director, Mr Cooper.
Did it many times, getting me everytime with some wind up, eventually I plucked up the courage to tell Mr Cooper to go f
k himself when he called me for the upteenth time ......... 2 minutes later Mr Cooper comes storming in ......... got a written warning for inappropriate attitude to higher personnel.

The long strands of fibre in duct tape pulled out and stuck on paintwork do a very convincing job that a cars been keyed. Step 2 visit a rough part of town and collect smashed car glass from crime hotspots

So much so after calling a mate out to his car he booted his door in frustration...
Hiding colleagues mobiles in the roof space above their desk.
Taking car keys and parking colleagues cars in the middle of a nearby, very large roundabout.
Using a program that could crash someones pc on the same network using their IP address.
Sending random emails from anyones pc that was left unlocked.
Usual high jinks really

Start of first lockdown.
Texted all my lads , saying they needed to register with HMRC in order to receive "furlough" pay.
Told them to call 03003003030 and give them name, address and date of birth. Is this the contact number for HMRC, of course not, its the local sexual Health clinic.
Bad me.

Used to work in a car sales showroom with lots of stamps about, so lots of ink pads about.
We used to take the inked and smear it all round the ear piece of a colleagues phone, then sit and dial their extension, giggling away knowing they were going to have an ear covered in ink.
Another easy phone related one is when someone is on the phone, creep behind them and pull the earpiece away from their ear, WHAM! they smash the phone onto the side of their head. Oh the laughs.
The classic is sellotape at head level, across a door, when somneone walks into it, they double over.
Get a colleagues keys, car, house, whatever, put them in a talcum powder filled ballon, blow it up, and cut the tail end off after the knot so they have little option other than to pop it.
Take their car keys and a well used hole punch, take all the fillings and put in the air vents, turn the fan on full whack, and as soon as they turn the ignition on, instant snow!
Flat battery on the car, colleague gets battery booster, as they put the cables on the battery, you press the horn and they jump a mile!
Oh I miss the office laughs back in the day.
