Should posters who unselfconsciously use the expression ‘methinks’ received an automatic 14 day suspension to think about what they have done ?

I reckon these are the same people that wear bow ties in the daytime.

The original cringe thread was amazing. If anyone found themselves in it, it would surely be a wakeup call to realise what utter planks they sound like. It was the perfect antidote to the po-faced posting of some of the denizens of PH.

I agree with the OP's premise. Using 'methinks' at least identifies the knobbers straight away.


Ref the much-missed Cringe thread, I'm amazed that fell foul of the complaints of the precious victims and yet the grammar/spelling stasi thread thrives.

Way more cringeworthy is the frequent overuse of implied “street” on these pages, by middle aged white collar men. Such as:

You'd be right, one of the F1 thread "owners" put me in there for lazily typing HAM instead of Hamilton and BOT instead of Bottas during race threads. Naturally this just made me use it all the more often in basically any thread where I could use leaderboard abbreviations for driver's names.
