As in, have they ever randomly cut off all contact with you out of the blue?

It happened to me about 20 years ago. At the time my close mate was having an extra-marital affair with my Wife’s best friend, but he never told me. Suddenly started making excuses not to go out, then lost contact completely. I assume he cut me off because he figured out my Wife knew about his shenanigans and therefore I did too and was worried I’d disapprove, or grass him up or something.

Or maybe he just didn’t like me.

No, but I have just given up on a friend

Had a baby just over two years go, sent Christmas cards for the last two years with new baby name in it, no contact

Always one way before this, don’t have time to see friends who want to see me, let alone the ones who won’t acknowledge having first baby

Yes. I was marginally irritated at first, but just think he is weird now and his loss.

I later found out that he did the same to his best man with no explanation at all. Confirms his rudeness/weirdness.

I’m currently ghosting my ‘best’ mate. Invited him to my new house last December and to meet up with a mutual mate. Was all arranged, text him a few days before to remind him and to say looking forward to it.
He apologised saying he’d forgot and also it was his works Xmas do, all paid for by the company. No big deal, went out with other mate and had a good meet up.
Then it was my 50th last January. He said he’d bring his sister to my party as his ‘+1’ as she would drive and he could have a good drink. Into the night, the other mate I mentioned earlier said he wasn’t here and called his sister, who flustered and said she’d let him know.
He never came or called. I reckon he forgot and couldn’t be arsed to come.
I don’t text him jokes anymore, ‘like’ his posts on FB and generally give him the cold shoulder. He is trying to reach out but I’m ignoring it biggrin
We will get it on again in the future but I’m enjoying it atm!

Yeah. Mostly by friends that owe me money. Not big sums but seemingly enough to make them not want to see/hear from me. That’s without asking for it back or even mentioning it. Guilt is a strange thing.

I’ve done it to others when a friendship flips and becomes one sided ... I’ve don’t have time in my life for people like that. Invariably they are the ones that only try to get in touch when they want something.

Same here. It was a similar amount and money well spent.

£20 seems to be a nice round amount that the supposed friend thinks they can get away with.

18 years since an incident with the same amount with a supposed friend , to make matters worse his wife was a friend of my wife and we were all friends with another couple, so the £20 caused him and his wife to fall out in effect with two couples.

To make it worse he was self employed and seemed to be doing well for himself.

Seen him once since and completely blanked him.

If you lend someone an amount of money and never get it back, that shows their character.

Yes my old best mate. I used to go out of my way to travel to his town weekly to play a bit of golf with him.
If ever we met up as a family group it was always us travelling to his house.

Then he blobbed a few times and I choose not to make the effort, this turned into a couple of years of no contact.
His wife messaged me on Facebook to say he wanted me to get in touch.

Ultimately I'm not bothered and don't see why I should try and reconnect with someone who Ultimately put little effort in originally

I had a friend for about 12-13 years all was good, then all he did was go on and on and on and on about Lewis Hamilton, calling him a poof and a n**** etc and how st apple was, I just got bored of the constant bullst from him so said , ill call ya and blocked his number, never had any contact since, oh his wife is Philippine and very dark skinned herself. I just can't be bothered with people these days.
