A lighthearted rant thread for those situations with your significant other where there is no other explanation to be found.

For example:

If our towels are folded in the same direction, they slot into each other neatly on the towel rail. my wife however folds hers the opposite way. Every. Single. Time.

The dishwasher has a flaw where if mugs are wedged into the top corner, the detergent flap doesn't open fully. This is repeatedly ignored, meaning the cycle has to be completed again once the offending mug has been moved.

Piling things on top of things - in the fridge, in cupboards, everywhere. The house is basically a massive jenga game with objects precariously balanced on top of each other.

After a while the conversations and arguments are futile and it's easier to accept she must just hate me laugh

So what have you got?

Over-tidying.

If something is out, it is tidied up in a random location which she cannot remember. For the sake of tidying up, not in a place where it belongs.

Buying things we already have. The products change over time, currently we have about 10 bottles of squash.

Leaving about 10% of a product in the container, moves onto a new one. fking use it up would you!!

Between two versions of entrothed "woman" I have nearly 50 man years pain of all the above.

Todays was me asking "what do you want for tea?".

"Don't know, what are the choices".

So I rele the choices off, get a "don't want any of them, I think I'd like a curry".

So she goes out. I do housework etc etc, order a curry for when she was due back in.

"I wanted lasagne for tea (*), why did you order curry, that is all blokes think about".

(*) lasagne wasn't on the original list and she never eats lasagne as she is on a low carb diet (tikka chicken and shish kebap pretty low carb, high fat though).

Oh, and I need to stop parking my car so close to the house as if she needed to walk past the passenger side she can't. Well that is why you walk past the driver side, and if I did park it further out, you wouldn't be able to walk past that side then, would you, lasagne hips?

And I put the milk in the fridge the wrong way round as she is left handed and I am right handed. Errm, a milk bottle is symmetrical, there is no "side".

Oh yes, I have one of those...

- All dirty dishes are left in the sink or to the side of the sink. We have a dishwasher.

- we have a bin we use for recycling just outside the back door. You don’t even need to leave the house to pop something in, however all recycling is stacked up on the work surface next to the fridge.

- things just left around, window sills, fireplace etc. If it’s there for more than a few days, that’s it, that’s it’s home and will live there forever.

- unopened post and/or piles of opened mail left on the hall table.

- there is a kitchen cupboard that I will not open. It’s full of cake stuff etc and something always dives out whenever I open it. Last time was a pot of cocktail sticks which exploded all over the kitchen. She won’t sort it.

I’m sure there more but this is what jumps into my head.

So yep, she must hate me, but I still love her.

How about leaving a door open as in the one that leads to outside, when it is -1C. Yes, I am sure you will only be a minute, but the house has a gale blowing through it, and I pay the heating bill. Plus, I am sat working near to that door, so you can be elsewhere in the house watching Loose Women.

Just shut the door. It takes 2 seconds, then re-open it when you are back from throwing leftovers on to the lawn (that I have to clear up)!

P.S. my wife does hate me!

I have named my other half the Master of Stuffing. This isn't some kind of adventurous kink to be explored or that she is a mean machine with the Paxo but she has a habit of stuffing things into gaps. If there's space in a cupboard, wardrobe the freezer it will be precariously filled where something will likely fall out the moment something is touched.

And then proceeding to complain there isn't enough cupboard space.

No. There isn't. It's full of half full cleaning spray bottles.
