Just a bit of fun, I heard someone talking on the radio about how their son had received the most middle class Christmas present ever. Got me thinking, I wouldn't say I was middle class, or maybe I am, who knows! but what would you say is the most middle class argument you have ever had or overheard.

I had quite a heated discussion this morning over what the correct size mulberry tree I wanted for my birthday and how best to transport it to our allotment. I'm pretty sure people can easily beat that.

Not an argument, but just got back from walking the dog and met a few neighbours talking about house prices and how all the townies are putting up the price of the houses round here, as they want to move to the country. Yet none of these neighbours have lived here for more than 10 years, we are all townies and moved out here for the space and cheaper housing. Struck me as bit middle class.

What are the class boundaries these days?

Some scumclass pleb I bumped into in the street called me a "rich " for owning a "flash car". erm..... it was a 2010 focus ST worth about 4k........

Quite how that makes me a "rich " I do not know.

So i guess its all relative.

My Uncle once violently ended a game of Trivial Pursuit by forcefully tipping the board over and storming out of the room after failing to know that the Mona Lisa was painted by Leonardo da Vinci, it was for a 'piece of cake' as well. I think it still hurts.

Reminded me of something happened to me, I have a 17 plate Astra that I got at about a year old, nothing special, I live on a council estate.
One afternoon in 2018 get home from work and a chav kid (about 16) says “ere mister how can you afford a 17 plate car” (ere mister added for effect), my reply was “by having a job” he did look puzzled by this job concept.

Once walked home from work wearing myshirt and tie, and a chav shouted “why are you dressed like a tt” I said “because I have to work to pay my bills you scrounger”, ok no I didn’t but I thought that.

The irony is that the scumclass pleb is probably raking in more on benefits than you do by working, yet wants to be seen as downtrodden by "them fackin conservatives" yet never utters a peep when Labour is in power. I'm digressing, the point being that scumclass boy is on more than you on average.

The system is broken and has been for years.

Quite possibly true. Certainly when i first left the forces and was long term unemployed, I couldn't get a penny in benefits due to the way my disability pension was viewed, and also being a home owner. This was despite my mortgage being less than what I would pay in rent (which is covered).

So my actual income after rent and council tax was well below what some unemployed scrote got.

Even when I was forced to sell and rent later on, I was still financially worse off than being a scrounger.

I don't get the maths they use but even now, if i lost my job and had to fall back on benefits, the amount of rent money, council tax relieve and UC is still more than my pension income so Id be better off without it in those circumstances.

However I work so its not relevant to me now.

My wife and I were trying to figure out the best style of trellis recently. Not sure if that counts.

Back in the 70s when I met my now wife, at her parents' house, her and her sister would argue about whose turn it was to unload the dishwasher.
Coming from a council flat where I was the fking dishwasher, I couldn't believe it.
