City centre "nightlife".

I am curious, has city centre "nightlife" always been the way it has been?

Or did something change at some point in time where it became socially acceptable for city centres to look like this on weekends.

I have visited 90+ countries and the only ones that I can think of that come to closely resembling these are usually where British people go abroad.

Unless there are where I have missed them?

You have definitely missed them ! or had a very odd choice of 90+ countries!

Maybe you stayed on the tourist routes and only met the Brits ? Or maybe you've gone to bed before the partying starts - our old licencing laws do mean we are out earlier finish earlier than others!

Moscow, fair enough I haven't seen it, but is this pattern then repeated across the whole of Russia?

I think LKF in Central HK may be broadly similar, but even still I don't think we see the same level of debauchery.

Sights like those on the very aged article quoted are not uncommon across the world.

I’ve personally seen them across the US, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Oz, all of Europe, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, etc...
