Wheels/Tyres Courier Collection Question

Does anyone know if a courier company will pick up a set of wheels/tyres loose or will they need to be boxed up ? Any recommendations for a company ? Thanks

I've sent and received loose motorcycle tyres by Hermes. Just tape a bin bag around each one. (I got two in a single package but I reckon that would be too big/heavy if it were car tyres.

I wouldn't mind some recommendations as well. I bought a spare alloy for my car from a chap on the owners club in November. It's a bit of a trek from mine and a relative that lived nearby was going to pick it up and bring it up at Christmas. Due to the apocalypse they couldn't come up for Christmas and I can't pick it up. The owner also does not have a box /bubble wrap big enough.

I bought an alloy wheel and tyre on eBay and the seller sent it in a cardboard box and used duct tape. It wasn't an exact fit box, but sheets of cardboard made up to size. When I rejected the alloy, it went back the same way via Parcelforce.

Obviously depends but 15-20kg.

The 16" wheel and tyre I sent back was 18.6kg.

Last few sets of wheels I have bought I have just used Shiply, had no issues at all.

I've just had 3 alloys collected and delivered to me via Paisley Freight (alloys only, no tyres)

They weren't boxed; but wrapped in black bin liners with cardboard across the 'face'; all 3 are rough and will be fully refurbed (along with the 4th which I already had)

So no; they DON'T need to be boxed; but d=o ensure that the faces are protected as best as they can be; just for peace of mind if anything else

Just had 4 alloys delivered to me by FedEx. The seller used old alloy boxes, and gaffer taped up all the gaps.

Does your relative have bigger boxes and more bubble wrap?
