Anyone Else Not Getting Their Post Lately?

I appreciate the current situation and weather will cause delays, but I've had 1 parcel about a week ago and nothing since. Currently waiting on 5 Ebay items from 5 different sellers, 4 of which are small enough to fit through the letterbox, but none of them have been updated beyond saying Tracking Number Provided. No letters either, although it's not as if I get them that often anyway. Is anyone else having similar delays at the moment, or does my postie just not like me?

If you have a look on the Royal Mail website there’s a page detailing post codes where they know they have covid-related delivery issues. I know this because my old mum is in WA8 and she’s had sporadic deliveries for a while, so I checked. There are many other places listed.

Probably due to the posties having to isolate .

Last thurs we had 70 staff including 4 managers get the isolate message from the nhs app, so those of us left just doubled up deliveries but only took specials/tracked and nhs letters .

They did well up to Christmas, even posting on Sundays, but have been hit with Covid since so down on manpower. We noticed we went a few days with none then shedloads all at once.
I don't think you have much to complain about really.

Anecdotally, one of the local staff said they were down to 4 posties instead of 20 for our section..

Proper lucky dip currently as to when anything will arrive.

No qualms though, understand the pressure they're under and the shifts they're putting in.

If your ordering stuff online and get the option select tracked as this is being prioritised over recorded or standard parcels regardless of it there 1st or 2nd class.

Normal service here SG1 to an extent, didn't see a postie doing the rounds today but they were up here yesterday.

When the staff numbers are down due to getting pinged by the nhs app , ordinary post doesn't get a look in .

The remaining staff will cover 2 deliveries and get rid of the specials , tracked and empty the post boxes rather than just focus on there own delivery.

NE12 here and we’ve had issues of post only being delivered twice a week most weeks since all this started last year.

A few things went missing in April/May last year but everything else seems to have been delivered on with Royal Mail.

I mentioned the low service level to our postie in passing who said they were struggling with absence and sickness / shielding / isolation but were also very short staffed anyways with no sign of recruiting. He apologised, which wasn’t necessary and told him as much as its way beyond his control, I was just being curious.

I haven't analysed ours, but rather than getting 1 letter every day, we seems to get none for a few days then a few on one day, so I suspect they aren't delivering to every area every day.

Our post is a bit hit and miss lately, which is to be expected really. I think we have become a bit too used to Amazon delivering anything your heart desires the next day though. Waiting more than a couple of days for anything now feels like torture.

Up here in Inverness Ive been buying loads from Ebay lately, expected delivery has been 9 days for eveything but in reality everythings arrived in 2 days.
