And tonight's mystery object is...?

My partner is going through her dad's personal stuff, ( he died a few years ago), and she found this.




We have no idea what it is or how he would have come by it. It's in its own case, weighs 239g, diameter75mm, thickness 5mm. It is much darker than the pictures suggest, a dark bronze colour. It also has the smell of copper coins.

Has anyone any ideas as to what it commemorates.

Just found that the 1st pic is combination of the Paris and Normandy crests.. Some sort of race?

Having said that, although the images are very close, , having looked at the listing in detail the weight and diameter are wrong.
